Chapter 3- Those Willing To Protect

The spokesperson asked, "Are you sure you're willing to protect us? This is going to be a big task and you guys all have different homes to go to!"

"It's going to be okay with me! I can always invite my friends over to the town if they don't wish to stay at Cappy Town!" Kirby cheered. Sonic and Mario nodded as the spokesperson. The spokesperson breathed a sigh of relief and invited the group to go on the podium.

The spokesperson announced, "Citizens of the town! It is my honor to announce we have people who are willing to protect us! Give it up for Sonic, Kirby, and MARIOO!!" The citizens all cheered as the group looked at each other and smiled.

"I guess we're a group of heroes now, how fun is that?" Sonic asked. The group nodded, they declared themselves to be the heroes of the newly founded town. But... There was no mayor for the town, nor a name for it.

The spokesperson sighed, "Now... we need to find someone who can take care of our town as the mayor. As well as give our town a name..." Then he looked over the heroes. He took a deep breath and looked down at his watch. "Are... are any of you willing to become the mayor of our town also?"

Kirby muttered, "Um..." The heroes looked at each other as Elfilin flew over to Sonic. He tapped Sonic on the head as Sonic looked up at him. Sonic took a deep breath and looked at the citizens. Then he turned over to the spokesperson and smiled.

Sonic announced, "I'm willing to be the mayor of the town!"

"Are you so certain?! Oh my! This is incredible!" The spokesperson yelled. Then the two shook hands with each other. Sonic hesitated a little but he knew this was going to be the best decision for the town.

Kirby giggled, "You're going to do fantastic Sonic! Don't you worry about a thing! We're right beside you during this entire journey!" Sonic looked at the two and smiled. Then he took a deep breath.

The spokesperson announced, "I am so pleased to announce that our Mayor will be none other than... Sonic The Hedgehog!" Sonic waved his hand at the citizens as they all continued to cheer for him. Sonic felt relieved that so many people were willing to support his choice.

Mario laughed, "The citizens seem to love you already!"

"I guess I'm just cool that way!" Sonic laughed. Then he went over to the microphone and took a deep breath. "Hey there citizens of this town! I sure hope your day is going well and if it isn't, wishing I can make it a little better!" Then he turned toward his allies.

A citizen yelled, "We have to figure out a town name, your honor!" Sonic looked at the citizens and back at his microphone.

Mario nodded in agreement, "We definitely need to get a town name, otherwise we are just going to be calling ourselves 'the people of this town.'"

"Yeah good point..." Sonic muttered. Then he looked down toward Tails, who was watching him with a big smile on his face. Sonic looked at the citizens and smiled back at them. "So you're wondering about a town name! I'm more than willing to take suggestions! What's our town going to be called?"

"Boulder Town!"

"Ooh, Ooh! What about Destiny Town!"

"Since we're near the city, why don't we just call ourselves Dawn Town? It seems easy enough!"

Sonic laughed, "You people have such amazing ideas! I love them all but none of them seem to fit just right. Is there anymore?"

"Sonic! I think I have one in mind!" Tails yelled.

Sonic asked, "Oh yeah? Go ahead and tell me!"

Tails explained, "To be fair, it kinda feels bland but trust me on this. So you, Kirby and Mario are the newly founded heroes who will be protecting this town. I was going to suggest hero town, but it feels a little selfish... but you can see what you can do!"

"Tails... I think you came up with the most brilliant idea! Who's on board with calling our town, Hero Town!" Sonic exclaimed. The citizens all cheered as Kirby and Mario cheered alongside them. "Then it's settled! Our newly founded town will be called Hero Town!"

Mario said, "It's the most perfect name for a town! Easy to remember and can be very iconic!"

"Oh for sure! We really hit the jackpot here!" Kirby agreed. Sonic turned to his allies and smiled at them.

Sonic sighed, "As heroes it is our duty to protect the heroes. So Hero Town it is!" The three nodded in agreement, they were far too excited for the new town name.
