Sonic, Kirby, Mario Revisited

Chapter 12- The Sudden Burst Bomb

Tails flew over and landed on the ground. The heroes looked over and gently smiled toward him as Tails looked at them with a smile as well.

"Alright, what's the problem that's occurring right now?" Tails asked.

Sonic explained, "So... the strange thing turned out to be... a bomb." Tails' eyes widened in shock as the heroes brought him to the area. Tails looked over and saw blood on the ground, growing more and more afraid of the scene by the second.

"S-Sonic... How could you be so calm about this?" Tails asked as he grabbed his toolbox even tighter.

Sonic grunted, "I don't think any of us have a choice. This situation is just really bad..." Sonic put his hands together to see if he could see the possible reasoning for the bomb being implanted but he thought that Eggman wasn't even evil enough to command someone to do a thing. "I don't think this was Dr. Eggman's responsibility. I think this goes to someone else entirely..."

Mario asked, "It wasn't from Dr. Eggman? How could you know for sure that it wasn't?"

"Eggman, he is an evil guy but he's not that evil to go ahead and blow up an entire building... right?" Sonic explained before starting to question himself. Kirby walked closer to get a better look at the whole situation. Something about it wasn't exactly aligning but he couldn't figure out the truth behind why this was the case. Kirby kept examining the area as Tails quickly followed behind him.

Tails explained, "You guys go back to the gas leak and I'll take care of things here!"

"Are you sure? I don't trust you in a place like this little-"

"Sonic! Trust me with this because I know exactly what I am doing! Okay?!" Tails yelled. Sonic stood there staring at him as Tails looked down at himself. Feeling guilty for yelling at his best friend and soon his ears became droopy.

Sonic replied, "Sorry about making you feel like that buddy. I know that you wish to show yourself but I guess I myself am afraid. But I know I should let you. But are you sure this is the right decision?"

"Don't worry about it Sonic, I have Luigi's help with me too!" Tails said with a smile on his face. Sonic nodded as the rest of the heroes left the area. Tails on the other hand just stared at the building and questioned the potential cause for whatever occurred. He kept thinking about it and took a deep breath. Tails got out the tools on his toolbox and grabbed a gas mask. Quickly he dashed into the burning building to see if he could recover anyone.

He continued to do so with the assistance of Luigi and he felt empowered for the first time. He was so excited to finally do something on his own with some assistance. Soon they were able to recover all those who were alive and all the bodies. Tails looked around for everything but he also felt stressed about the situation. It was a lot to handle for the type of person he was, but he was determined to push through the suffering.

Luigi asked, "Tails, are you sure you're able to handle this?" Tails looked at him and slowly proceeded to nod. He took a deep breath and quickly went to check the interior of the building to see if he could repair any leaks. He continued looking around for anything he could do but nothing exactly came to his mind. Soon he left before the smoke in the area got worse. He arrived back and then saw someone walking.

"WHO ARE YOU?!" Tails demanded. He grabbed out his wrench as a quick weapon and stood there staring at the smoke. There was a figure amongst it all but he had no idea who. Luigi walked beside him and they just watched the figure. Luigi was more fearful than Tails was but Tails was absolutely determined to uncover the figure. Then, the figure revealed themself from the smoke. Tails slowly lowered his wrench but kept it in his hand. They walked out of the smoke and appeared to be a human.

They had a hood on and their eyes not very visible, on the other hand, there were markings slightly showing on their face alongside a coat that had some strange markings on it. Luigi walked further back as Tails quickly pulled out a ray gun. The person just stared at Luigi and Tails and smiled toward them, as the two were still both afraid.

The person laughed, "Now look at what we got here! A little fox and Mario's younger brother... Isn't it a shock to see you both here alone?" Tails and Luigi just stared at him as the person chuckled. "For the record, I'm certain we have not met. My name is Robin, call me Grima since that's who I am. I don't exactly come from where you two live but I'm not going to give that away..."

Tails asked, "W-What are you going to do!? Why did you cause the explosion in the building?!" Tails glared at Grima intensely as he appeared to just look down at them. "No response?! Are you a coward to answer my question?! Speak NOW! I want clear answers for your actions and what you are planning!"

Grima laughed, "You're just so naive! You think you're going to know what my plans are? I'll let you know when you're on your dying breath little fox... what is your name anyways?"

"Miles 'Tails' Prower... and I want to know your plans..." Tails demanded. Grima just took a deep breath and walked away from the two.

Luigi asked, "Do you simply have zero explanation for any of this? I'm inclined to believe this is the case because you're ignoring all the questions Tails is asking you!" Grima looked toward Luigi and chuckled. Luigi became frightened but Tails encouraged him to stay confident.

Grima laughed, "Oh! Miles 'Tails' Prower, no wonder why you were so familiar. Both of you are in the shadows of your close friends and/or family members... Sonic is who stands out for Miles and Mario for Luigi! You're going to just notify those two individuals about my plan and frankly. I have zero time and energy for them..." Grima turned away from the two. Tails attempted to shoot him with his ray gun but he teleported away.

Luigi muttered, "He just decided to insult us and then... disappear?" Tails shook his head as he looked at the building. "Do you believe it's connected to the plan that Dr. Eggman is attempting to do? After all, he's corrupting heroes left and right." Tails looked toward him and then started thinking about it. He just thought about it and how maybe Grima was connected to the plan. But he needed to clarify with Sonic first.

Tails responded, "You may have a good leading point Luigi! Let's go ask the team and see what they think!" Luigi nodded as they looked at the scene for a moment. There were officers and paramedics already there. So they left the area in favor of looking for the heroes.
