Sonic, Kirby, Mario Revisited

Chapter 10- The One Behind The Troubles

"Shadow... what in the world brings you around here?" Sonic grunted as he slowly got up. Mario helped him as Kirby jumped right in front of them.

Shadow grunted, "You think you're going to have it so easy? I know we've become somewhat allies, but know that we're not on fully friendly terms. So with that, I teamed with Dr. Eggman to ensure the troubles going around this area are going as he wishes."

Tails asked, "Why would you go work with Dr. Eggman!? You know your purpose and I don't understand why you would have the need to return?!"

"I don't have a need to return but it seemed what he was doing was... interesting," Shadow explained. The heroes looked at each other with confusion as Shadow took a deep breath. "You are all imbeciles thinking you will be able to stop what is going on."

Sonic yelled, "Dr. Eggman has infected several heroes with his madness! Why would you decide to JOIN IN THAT MESS?!" Sonic looked down at himself in anger as Shadow kept his arms crossed. "What exactly are you doing here anyways?!"

"Simple, with whatever Tails managed to find on his map; that is what I am causing..."

"THE NEGATIVE ENERGY!?" Tails asked. Shadow just stared at Tails as he looked back at his map. Tails shook his head as Kirby attempted to go for an attack but Shadow kicked him right now. Kirby slammed onto the ground and looked down at himself in disbelief.

"Just... I don't get why you would do this?!" Sonic asked. Shadow turned away and stopped speaking straight to Sonic's face. Sonic looked up at him and soon he skated off. The heroes were completely stunned over what they had just witnessed. It was hard to understand and it was difficult to see why. "Shadow... why is he working with Eggman out of all the people?"

Tails sighed, "Maybe it's because he still feels connected to him due to his grandfather... creating him?"

"I guess that makes for a valid reason... I guess." Sonic sighed as he crossed his arms. The heroes looked at each other in worry as Sonic just kept thinking about what the next best course of action was going to be.

Mario sighed, "We're going to find a way to defeat Dr. Eggman and fast. Otherwise the situation will find a way to worsen. I'm not sure how bad it's going to get but I'm certain it is only going to get worse..." Mario looked down at himself as the heroes just stared at him. Tails kept examining his tablet to see if he could notice anything on there.

"Uh..." Tails mumbled as suddenly a single was going off. He looked at it in worry as the heroes kept staring at one another still thinking. Tails looked at it and saw it was worsening by the second. "GUYS!"

Kirby asked, "Is something bothering you Tails? You seem extremely stressed." Tails tried showing Kirby the tablet but soon they heard an explosion in the distance. The heroes looked over in confusion. They all dashed over as Tails tried to alert them of the other situation that was occurring. Tails followed after them as he kept checking his tablet to see if the other situation was going to worsen.

They all made it to where the explosion occurred but there was simply... nothing, no matter how hard they searched they were unable to find anything. The officers were investigating the explosion to see if there were any clues as to who was responsible.

Sonic asked, "What the heck is going on!? We spend a couple of minutes away from the center of the town and all of a sudden it goes HAYWIRE?!" Tails tapped Sonic's back as Sonic slowly gathered himself together to see what Tails wished to alert him about. It was none other than the situation that Tails had already been tracking. "WHAT THE-"

Tails explained, "I've been trying to warn you for the past several minutes but all of that came crashing down when the building was suddenly blown up! Now I'm getting more and more afraid that this situation is going to get worse!" Sonic looked at him and back at the explosion before turning toward Mario.

"Okay! Mario, you're the team leader so what do you suggest we take care of?!" Sonic asked as he started panicking. Mario looked at him and started thinking. But soon that came to irritate Sonic more and more. He began to tap his foot to show that he was getting impatient of what was going on. "HURRY UP MARIO!"

"We're going to investigate the other problem! Come on! Show us where to go!" Mario demanded. Tails nodded as he showed the location of the secondary problem. The heroes all dashed off as Tails kept watch of the explosion situation. Keeping a watch of what the officers were doing. Marth came walking over trying to clear the dust out of the way as he spotted Tails.

Marth yelled, "TAILS!"

"Marth!? What's the matter?" Tails asked as he put his tablet away. Marth paused to gather himself together and took a deep breath.

Marth explained, "The explosion appeared to have been caused due to a gas leak of some sort!" Tails dashed over to investigate and luckily everyone that was in the building at the time were all safe. Tails kept a check of where the source of the explosion came from. Just like that he found it as the firefighters were still putting out the fire. "Are you able to help repair it?"

Tails laughed, "Not to worry! I'm certain I'm able to do it just fine!" Tails dashed off to head to his workshop in order to get his toolbox. But while he was running Shadow appeared again and directly kicked him onto the ground. Tails rolled for a little bit and looked over in shock. "Shadow!? What are you doing here again?!"

Shadow sighed, "The opportunity presented itself. I know you're alone without any assistance. You're so weak compared to working with Sonic. This should be easy..." Tails looked at him in worry as he kept looking around to see if he could find a way out of the situation. Before long he realized his tails could be useful in an escape plan. After all, he didn't have anything to fight with. So as Shadow dashed in for an attack, Tails did a spin-dash and struck Shadow down.

"I may not be too strong but I can do just fine to fight for my own!" Tails yelled. Shadow looked at him as Tails started to get worried again, but he kept his head up high to ensure he could prove himself worthy.

Shadow sighed, "Then I challenge you to a fight. If you want to prove yourself actually worthy..." Tails looked at Shadow as he got himself ready but Tails' perseverance was able to push through. Preparing for the fight himself.
