Billie

"So that's why I faked my age, I promise I didn't mean to hurt you or feel like I led you on but you have to understand me and my sister lied to everyone as a joke then It became serious and we had to stop."

"Did your ex know your real age?" Audrey asked me

"Yeah she did"

"Oh"

"My ex was also the same age as me, we lived together but I wasn't a great partner"

"Yes you are"

"I was on drugs Audrey, and I've done horrible horrible things that I regret till this day but I'll do anything to protect my little girl from every one and from my past, because that's not who I am now"

"Exactly that's what makes you perfect for me"

"You don't understand Audrey, even now my brain has this urge, and It makes me wanna do bad things and that's why I did drugs to keep me calm."

"Billie-"

"but I can't do drugs again because I can't do that to my daughter but believe me I want to, every second of the day if I could just sniff something up my nose or inject something in my arm, or even smoke something stronger I would. I have done the most awful things and It's haunting me," I ranted

"Billie you're scaring me a bit"

"You know what I'm overreacting I'm going to take a shower"

________

Audrey

I ended up staying that night, I was afraid that Billie might do something to herself so I stayed. She did get high off of some weed, but knocked out after it.

While she was sleeping I walked around her house for a bit. I ended up standing in front of her office door, I placed my hand on the doorknob and turned it to open the door, to my surprise it was unlocked, she always locks her office door so it was unusual.

I know Billie doesn't like people going through her stuff but I was extremely curious, I wanted more answers because I felt like she wasn't giving me the full story, or she was lying to me again.

I through the top drawer and It was filled with small boxes of professional pencils, pens, markers, ect. Stuff that I wasn't looking for. The other drawers were filled with files and music notes and other work stuff. I made it to bottom drawer and this drawer was different from the other drawers. It had a black box in it, I turned on my flashlight from my phone and went through the box.

It had another small box in it so I took it out and opened it. The box contained a couple of gold necklaces, a couple of rings, some pearl bracelets, and a diamond necklace. I thought it odd because Billie had her own collection of jewelry, why were these separate?

Unless they weren't hers.

I put all of the jewelry back on the box and continued to search through the big black box. I found letters written between Billie and Lucille, Elliot's mother.

They were in a different language so I couldn't read them, which I also found kind of odd. I wondered what could've been so important that they had to write to each other in a different language.

What was Billie hiding?

I set the letters to the side and pulled some photos from the black box, they were of Billie and Lucille, one is by a car, Billie has blue and black hair in this picture and she's wearing shades, Lucille on the other hand had her arms around Billie's next and she's smiling while leaning on her shoulder. In another picture, Billie also still has blue and black hair, but this time they're in the hospital, Billie is smiling holding Elliot in her arms, and Lucielle is on the bed, smiling and posing for the picture.

I looked onto the next photo, this photo is kind of disturbing, It shows Billie in the hospital, she looks a lot younger in this and had her natural blonde hair, if I could guess, she looks around 13 in this photo. She doesn't look the slightest bit of happy, in fact there was something about her eyes that scared me, they looked empty. Billie's arms were covered in bloody bandages, and her neck and face looked like they were covered in scratches.

I looked at the next picture and It was of Billie again, but this time she's with her twin siter Ellie. Both Billie and Ellie had their natural blond hair, and Billie still had those bandages on her wrist, except they were cleaner fresh looking.

Ellie is smiling, meanwhile Billie wasn't again, in fact I couldn't read her face at all, she just looked right at the camera and again, a creepy chill ran down my spine, I turned to the back of the photo and it said.

"back from the hospital"

I put the pictures to the side and pulled out a black journal, but what was under it made me gasp.

A gun.

"Holy shit," I whispered.

I heard noises, but I couldn't tell you were they were coming from, so I panicked and put everything back in the box, then put it back in the drawer, I gently closed it and walked out of Billie's office. I turned a corner and saw a shadow, my heart was beating so fast I thought it was going to thump out of my chest.

"mommy?" Elliot said before walking out of her room and towards me.

I let out a breath of relif, I was hoping, maybe even praying it wasn't Billie and it wasn't, I guess that's what I get for being nosy.

"Mommy's sleeping why don't we get you back to bed?"

"I want mommy?"

"Okay I'll take you to her"

I picked her up and brought her into Billie's bedroom, Billie was luckily still sleeping. I laid Elliot next to her in the middle of both of us, then climbed into the bed myself.

"Mommy," Elliot whispered and lightly shook her awake.

"Oh shit another nightmare?" Billie groaned kind of startled from being woken up out of her slumber.

"mhm," Elliot nodded.

"C'mere"

Billie held out her arm and Elliot laid on her chest, Billie kissed her head and covered her with the blankets.

I tried to sleep but it took a while due to all of the tossing and turning i was doing. I couldn't stop thinking about the letters, the pictures, the jewlery, the gun. It all wouldn't leave my mind. I eventually started counting sheep and it put me to sleep peacefully.
