Your P.O.V.
"I like you."
I looked down at my feet and put my hands on the pockets of my jacket. It was the first time in my life that I confessed, and I thought it would be very nerve-wracking. But surprisingly, it wasn't.
"Sorry, but I like someone else."
I looked up at him and saw a bland expression.
"Who-"
"I'm already courting Karina." he stated.
The mere mention of her name made my blood boil. I wasn't even disappointed or upset that he didn't like me, but the fact that he chose her among everyone else...
"What- why her?!" I groaned despite knowing the answer already.
"Why not?! She's beautiful, smart, sweet, talented-"
"Ugh, shut up! You're starting to disgust me." I rolled my eyes.
"Jeno!" we both turned our heads to the person who called him.
"Sorry, but my friend's calling me already." he gave me an apologetic smile before walking away.
I stomped my feet and walked over to our room. When I arrived, my friends stopped talking and watched as I slumped down on my chair.
"What's the matter with you again?" Yunjin asked.
"Did you bump into Karina again-"
"Ugh, stop mentioning her name. I'm so tired of hearing that already." I told Sakura.
"Karina Karina Karina Karina Karina-" Eunchae kept repeating her name. So I sat up and was supposed to chase her, until she flashed a cheeky smile and made a peace sign.
"Be grateful you're adorable." I leaned back on my chair and smiled a little.
"Anyways, how did your confession go?" Chaewon asked.
As soon as she stated her question, the four of them gasped and looked at me in shock.
"Your confession?!" Kazuha shrieked.
"When- who did you confess to?!" Yunjin yelled.
"Chill, it was just Jeno. It was only for fun anyways." I shrugged.
"Why didn't you tell us about it? You only told Chaewon." Eunchae pouted.
"I wouldn't even have known too if I didn't see her stalking him on Instagram." Chaewon muttered.
I smacked Chaewon's arm while they all gasped a second time and looked at me in shock.
"I did not expect you to do that, Y/n." Kazuha said.
"That's not true! I was just curious!" I fumed.
"Mhmm, sure." Sakura grinned.
"Well? What did he say to you?" Chaewon brought up.
"He said he was courting Yoo." I rolled my eyes and huffed.
"Aww. Poor you." Yunjin stated as they all snorted.
"I don't care anymore. They make a perfect match." I stated in a sarcastic tone.
"Are you jealous?" Eunchae wiggled her eyebrows and grinned.
"What?! Why would I be jealous of her? I'm well aware that she's got everyone under her spell. And I don't care." I crossed my arms.
They all went quiet as they stared at me and looked at each other for a minute.
"As long as that loser stays far away from me, everything will be fine." I sighed and smiled to myself.
They still weren't talking, so I gave them weird looks. Until I noticed that their gazes weren't on me, but behind. Then I heard someone clear their throat.
"How far do you want me to be, exactly?"
When I heard how close she was to my back, I flinched in surprise and turned around to glare at her.
"You're supposed to be on the other end of the world, what are you doing creeping up behind me loser?" I scoffed.
"If anyone's a creep, it's you because you keep on talking about me. Dumbass." she retorted.
I spared her friends a glance and they gave me small smiles, which I returned.
Now, people may think that just because me and this girl here hate each other's guts, our friends are in war too. Actually, she's friends with mine and I am friends with hers.
I don't really know why her friends can't keep her away from me though.
"Ew, you're way too assuming. Can you please get out of my sight?" I grumbled before turning my back on her and facing my friends.
"Tsk, your attitude definitely mirrors your grades." she whispered before walking away.
As soon as I heard it, I snapped my head and narrowed my eyes at her.
"Excuse me, my grades aren't that far from yours! In fact, you stole my #1 spot!" I argued.
I heard my friends' sighs due to another session of bickering, but I didn't care. I kept my glare at her as she turned to face me.
"And the fact that I stole it means that I'm way smarter than you." she calmly replied.
I scoffed and was about to speak again, but Chaewon grabbed my arm.
"Will you please stop? This'll never end again." she complained.
I gave Yoo another glare before fully facing my friends, who only shook their heads at me.
"Whatever. I'll just sleep before lunch ends." I shrugged before plugging in my earphones, playing some music, then leaning down on my desk.
"Your grades for the prelims are done, and as expected this class always has the highest grades among your year."
I smiled in relief after hearing the announcement. Though, I can't help but feel nervous about my grade. I know that I've done my best and I studied well, but there's this certain girl that drives me crazy.
Of course, not in a weird kind of way.
"And since your grades are high, I'll announce the top 5 of this class."
I have always taken the top spot. Not just in our class, but in our year too. Even then, I would always keep track of my scores and tasks to make sure that I was consistent.
"Top 1, as expected, is taken by Karina."
Until this girl comes and takes my place.
"Followed by Cha Y/n."
I sighed and held my forehead, feeling Chaewon rubbing my back comfortingly.
"It's okay. You did well." she whispered to me.
I gave her a small smile before breathing deeply and looking in front. Then my eyes met with the gaze of the person I've been loathing.
A grin made its way to her lips before she slowly turned to look back in front. Anger started surging inside me while I can only grit my teeth and narrow my eyes at the sight of her back.
I bet they wouldn't take this easily again.
