detailed smut!

authors note; for everyone who read the chapter already, nothing changed. I just accidentally deleted it and republished it.

It was almost evening when James finally had been released from the police station and was free to go. Eli Roosevelt already informed him about Kayla's death. The Lieutenant was sceptical about all of this at first but he couldn't proof that Kayla had been murdered. Whoever killed her made it look like a suicide, he just had a feeling about this.

When he met the blonde yesterday morning after she gave her statement she didn't seem like someone who struggled with her mental health. Which didn't necessarily mean that he was right about it. Maybe she had problems. For now, even if he was convinced of something else, he had to let James go.

Happy made sure to make a prospect bring James' bike down to the station and waited outside for him. He rolled the toothpick between his lips as he watched James' storm out of the police station and walk towards him.

"I'm so fuckin' glad they let me go." The first thing he did was taking a cigarette out of the box in his Kutte and lit it. After exhaling the smoke, he leaned against his bike and ran a hand over his face. "I assume it was you?"

"Me and your sister", Happy replied with a shrug, not sure how James would react after finding out his sister was also involved. "Don't freak out, she had a good reason."

He stared at Happy in disbelief, not sure if he wanted to rip his best friend's head off or not. "You let my sister be part of this?", he snarled in a whisper after he found his voice again.

"Have you seen your kid? Don't fucking think so", Happy said harshly and threw away the used toothpick. "You're lucky that girl is still alive after what your psycho ex did to her. You think I would've been able to stop Cassie from anything?"

Maybe if he had tied her to a chair just like he did with Kayla. Otherwise he wouldn't have had a chance to stop his Old Lady from giving Kayla what she deserved. And if he was honest he thought it was good that Cassie had the chance to take revenge on her sister in law.

The oldest Connor dropped his eyes, bringing the cigarette between his fingers to his mouth. Another cloud of smoke formed in front of him as he slowly let the smoke slide over his lips. Shame and guilt filled him and hearing how bad his daughter looked drove him to despair.

"I should've killed her last time", he laughed bitterly, tapping his cigarette to shake off the excess ash. "Then none of this would've happened. My babygirl would be fine and Cassie wouldn't have to live with that guilt now."

"Your sister is fine, don't always underestimate her, James", Happy rasped while he watched his brother from the corner of his eye. "She's stronger than you think and so is your kid."

"She really wanted to do this?", James wanted to know, finally lifting his head to get a better look at Happy.

"I would've never let her do it if I hadn't been sure if she could handle it afterwards. After she saw Lily she was hell bent on doing this", he assured him with a grunt. "Can you handle the fact that Kayla's dead?"
