Fire, Ice, and Desire (Endeavor/Enji Todoroki)

Chapter 3: Date Night

The school was bustling with people. Heroes, family members, company officials, and many civilians that were heavily screened made our way through the campus. I caught the tail end of the first battles, but opted for the earlier security patrol. I wanted to be able to really watch the later battles.

When I heard them announce Midoriya and Todoroki, I found Mt. Lady to take over the patrol so I could go find a place in the stands. Toshinori walked around as All Might, finding me and inviting me to the Top 10 box in the stands. We had an unobstructed view so that we could scout for our agencies.

Even as All Might, Toshinori was visibly nervous for his young prodigy. My interest was his opponent. I knew Midoriya was strong and in good hands, I wanted to know if Endeavor's son would be cautious with his classmate.

We watched them trade blows, but as I watched Midoriya break his bones, I hoped Shoto would end the battle quickly. Once they finished, Endeavor was cheering loudly, attracting a lot of attention I could tell his son didn't like.

"You big hot head," I mumbled, shoving past him on my way out to find the boys. I wanted to give them my advice for things they could work on. I didn't think he heard me, but the massive hand grasping my arm told me otherwise. Quiet murmurs broke out amongst the other top heroes, All Might's eyes glued to my arm.

"You really want to insult me, little girl?" His gruff voice was hard to focus on when there was a strange familiarity to his touch. I shook his hand off, standing my ground.

"It's not an insult, Endeavor, simply a description." I smirked. I gestured to his large stature, "You're a very large man and happen to be quite hot headed. You're famous for it, Number 2."

I turned on my heel and proceeded out of the stands. He was so busy looking at me dumb-founded that he didn't argue as I walked off. Apparently he's not used to people standing up for themselves. I, on the other hand, was not going to be a big bully.

I found and spoke with both boys, making my way out to grab a snack. I chatted with many students and a few teachers. Aizawa caught up with me, buying me a drink. We chatted and strolled while he waited for the next match. My phone rang as we went to go back inside.

"Hydraulic speaking." I answered, not ready to leave.

"We need you, boss." Firefist's voice was on the other end. "Man with a fire quirk setting buildings ablaze in town square." I sighed and got more details, calling on a cloud to carry me to the location.

I was quick to put the fires out, pulling from the fountain in the square. The man was throwing punches with Firefist, screaming about how he needed to eradicate someone. As I saw Endeavor's flaming form descending from the sky I shot a swirling waterspout at the man. He was swept into it, only his head above the water. Before long the local police were able to take him into custody and I felt smug knowing Endeavor wasted his time coming here for something I handled.

"Nice work, Hydraulic." He grumbled, plastering a smile across his face. "Care to patrol a bit, catch up?"

"I have some paperwork to get to, but thank you. Another time?" I smiled, actually willing to work with him.

"Sure. Have a good evening." He almost sounded disappointed. I said my goodbyes, making my way back to the agency.

"Hey Boss!" Mei called, "I didn't expect to see you today. Aren't you meant to be watching the first year battles all day?" She smiled, a stack of papers in my basket behind her desk. I neatly pushed them into a pile, picking them up.

"Yes, Mei. I was, but I got called away for a criminal. I figured I'd come catch up on some work before I head home for the day. Any word from Todoroki yet?" I hoped the young man would reach out today, although he may be tired after battling all day.
