Shoto was in the lobby when we arrived at my agency. Mei was chatting with him. Her eyes went wide as Enji held the door for me. I thanked him and he proceeded to run his eyes over my body.

"You know, maybe you should wear this at home." His whispered remark made me blush. Mei was staring at us. I watched her ogle him before she returned her attention to me.

"Boss, good to see you." She composed herself and offered me a smile, "Endeavor." She nodded to him.

"Hey Mei, how have things been today?" I didn't have to wait long before I heard Firefist skipping down the hall. His animated personality always made me laugh.

"Hydraulic! You finally showed up! I've been so bored all day-" He stopped a few feet short of me and froze in place as he noticed Endeavor standing behind me, glaring at him. "You brought Endeavor, how fun!"

"Firefist, I'm sure you kept them busy today?" I raised an eyebrow, he nodded and sprung into a story about a man with a water quirk flooding a nearby store's stock room so that he could rob the register.

"Good work!" I praised him, "I need you to keep your work phone on tonight, take up any local calls for me. I'm headed out to Hosu. Endeavor and I are patrolling tonight."

"Is this for the Hero Killer initiative? His manifesto BS is floating around online." Firefist was bouncing on his toes. The poor guy had too much energy and could never sit still.

"Yes. It won't be a problem after we find him." Enji's deep voice was so confident. "It'll be great experience for my Shoto."

"Boss, could I get a word before you go?" Mei chimed in, blushing. We excused ourselves and stepped down the hall into my office.

"What's up, Mei?" The staff all knew they could come to me with anything.

"I saw the paper this morning... Is that you he was holding? Number 2, that is.." Her blush told me she was embarrassed to ask. "I won't tell anyone if it was, I just recognized you."

"It was, Mei. I'm sure they'll have it in the next paper. It's new, but fantastic. I'm sure he'll be around more, if that's okay?" I wanted them to all feel comfortable at work and I knew Enji was intimidating in his work attire.

"Oh, of course! As long as you're happy he is welcome here. Is he that scary all the time?" Her curiosity was funny.

"No, he's a teddy bear at home, but don't tell anyone else that. Don't wanna bruise his ego." I winked as she giggled.

"You're braver than me, he's a massive man. I can only imagine... you've got to be super woman." Her wide eyes and dropped jaw told me exactly what she was thinking about. My face heated up.

"It's an adventure, but a delicious adventure. Trust me, Mei, a little pain with your pleasure can be very, very good." I patted her shoulder. "Now, I've overshared entirely too much. We should go back before they come looking for us." We laughed. She reassured me that she wouldn't say anything, she was simply curious. I trusted her, she was the only employee I had who knew my name and personal information.

Enji raised a fiery eyebrow as we came back, deepening my blush. A knowing smirk spread on his face. "Are you ready to go, Hydraulic? I'm driving."

"Boss! I want to go!" Firefist pouted, making me chuckle.

"I've got Shoto tagging along. Can't have too large of a patrol group or I'd bring you, too." I shrugged. "You are in charge of keeping our sector safe while I'm gone, okay?"

He nodded eagerly, "Fine, but I want all the details of what you find when you're back!"

We made our way back to Enji's car, a smile on his face the whole way. Shoto made small talk, which was comforting. I think it was more for me than for him, as he seems happy in silence like his father.
