Angel

Waking up alone was never a good sign. The bed was still warm, so I felt around until I found the hot pad that must have been left on for me last night. I whined as I came up empty handed, no Enji in sight. I rolled to turn on the light and heard a crinkle, halting my movement. I did a little searching and found a piece of paper. Turning on the light, I grew frustrated as I read.

My Angel,

Hopefully you'll never read this. But I know you well enough to write it in case that little bundle of magic wakes you up. The league is a problem and they have your sister. I have a lead on them and can't let it go cold, I'll be home as soon as I can.

All my love,
Enji

You have to be kidding me. He knows better than this. We are a team. He cannot go behind my back making decisions about my sister for us both.

Calling Toshinori, I feigned labor pain so he would get here quickly. I tossed in my hero costume, grateful Eri was still asleep. The knock at my door told me it was go time.

Toshinori was in full panic mode as I opened the door, taking in my appearance with confusion. "Why the hell are you wearing that? We need to get to the hospital."

"I need you to watch Eri. Now." I pressed a kiss to his cheek, rushing out the door. "I love you, Toshi!"

Enji

The small elite group of pro heroes crowded around me outside the warehouse. Edgeshot directly between Eraserhead and I, prepared to knock the warp-gate unconscious along with anyone else he deems a big enough threat. I heard the cries before we got inside. A voice all too similar to my Angel's. Anger flooded me as I realized they were tormenting her sister.

"Endeavor, sir, what would you like us to do?" Edgeshot eyed me with caution, which was smart. I was half tempted to have them get her sister while I burn the place down. Unfortunately, that was against everything we stood for as heroes.

"Minimal damage. Save the girl. Capture whoever we can. Even if we don't secure a single member of the league, we return the girl to her family." The words were like dirt on my tongue. Every emotion in my body screamed to go home.

Eraserhead nodded at me, confirming that I made the right choice. My phone vibrated again, Angel calling for the umpteenth time since she must have woken up. I sent up a prayer that Angel would forgive me as I quickly silenced the device, locking my attention on the mission.

Angel

"Gosh damnit!" I shouted, throwing my phone across the conference room of the police headquarters. Enji wouldn't answer his phone, Aizawa shut his off, Yuki refused to give me any information. Anger flooded my system at their recklessness.

"Hydraulic, we need you to calm down." Yuki tried once again to calm me, but I wasn't having it. Not when Enji's life was at risk. I understood that he was looking for closure, security for us before the baby comes. It doesn't change that he doesn't have the right to disappear in the middle of the night. Waking up to find him gone is like something out of a nightmare.

"No, what we need is for someone to tell me where the hell the father of my child is. He damn well better be unharmed when I get there or I'm going to be the one you'll all need to be afraid of." I felt the fear and anger radiating from my body in waves.

"He made us promise-" I cut him off, slicing my hand through the air.

"I'm a grown ass woman. No one," I paused, taking a deep breath, "I mean no one, tells me what I can and cannot do. Now, unless you'd like to make this harder by forcing me to search for them, you're going to tell me where they are and how I can best offer them support. They need it."
