Okay so bear with me, but both in canon and in fanfics I've read, there has yet to be a blader who blades solely for the sake of money.
The possibilities are endless!
The character could have a true passion in blading but ends up having to sacrifice that for the sake of winning for the prize money.
The character could be someone who doesn't have the passion to blade but has the skills necessary to win.
Or maybe the character doesn't have both but blades for money regardless.
The reasons behind that could vary too!
One really good example is poverty, and before I go on a tangent about the inner workings of how it could affect the inner drive of the blader-
Anyway, I am really looking forward to a fic like this.
