ROSELYN

"Alistair, do you have siblings?"

I sat in my chair behind my desk with a frown while Alistair stood in front.

"No, Miss Sawyer, I don't." He replied  simply.

I sighed, "Right.. I knew that," I tapped my pen against the edge of my desk— chewing on my bottom lip. ".. I'm sorry."

He hummed, "It's fine, Miss Sawyer— is Jeremiah bothering you that much?"

I scoffed, "He's just being a brother, but I'd like to at least have my own place to myself if he's going to be here too," I stared at the spot where my pack of Black & Milds would be if Jeremiah hadn't took them from me yesterday. ".. anyway what do you have to tell me?"

Alistair said, "Derek Harrington would like to meet with you."

"When did he contact you?" I asked.

"About an hour ago— he ranted about how he was on business in Italy and only just found out today what was going on." Alistair explained.

I rolled my eyes, "Derek's smart enough to know that ain't a good enough reason to meet with me."

Alistair sighed, ".. Well Miss Sawyer, he said that Bonnie Lovell called him once he made it back to Manhatten— confessed some things that you might be interested in. But he wants you to hear it from him, perferably in person, but over the phone would also—"

"— I honestly don't give a damn about that bitch told him.. I'm tired of hearing about her," I huffed— leaning back in my chair. ".. that's just me thinkin' with my heart not my head though— shit.. Alistair, give me some time to figure this out."

"Of course, Miss Sawyer," Alistair turned to leave before he paused and looked back at me over his shoulder. ".. have you smoked today?" He questioned.

"No," I frowned— rubbing my temple. "I need to buy more because JJ took my pack the moment he saw them— can you tell in a bad way?"

He shook his head, "No no definitely not—"

"— Just go, Alistair." I sighed— shooing him off.

Alistair nodded without a word and walked towards the door before he opened the door and left my office.
