DOMINIC
"She loves me? Really?"
By the time I left from my visit with Mama it was shifting into the afternoon. Those hours with her didn't feel like hours, and I was trying to stay for every second of my visit.
But, like a mother, she could tell her words about Roselyn had a part of my mind elsewhere and forcibly sent me on my way soon after.
So after practically two weeks of being away I now stood in front of Canopy of Crystal- nothing changed. Anyone would think after almost dying because of this place that it'd be hell after disappearing for a while. But no, it was fine- they were fine.
I crossed the parking lot as I murmured to myself, "A woman like her? Love me?"
Roselyn and I were in two completely different walks of life. I came from everything and found myself with nothing, while she came from nothing and found herself with-
'She smiles less.'
Alistairs words never truly left my mind. Roselyn always was reserved woman- she kept to herself about many things but was also able to be genuine with her employees and the people she interacted with. I didn't want to give myself so much credit, but I did notice her loosen up more and even smoke less when I worked for her. At one point she even admitted it.
I walked up to the entrance of the building and the security both gave me a look. I wasn't banned from the building or nothing but I'm sure I was the last person they expected to see here again.
"John, Matt." I said- giving them both a nod before I pushed open one of the doors.
The lobby was still lively on the inside- there was no sign of Cesar Leone either. Employees scrambled around and perfessionally dressed whoevers with an appointment sat in the chairs or stood near.
Good thing I dressed nice to see Mama earlier, so I didn't completely look like I didn't belong to the ones who didn't know who I was.
I walked uo the front desk and murmurs already started. I leaned slightly on the counter and gave it a playful knock- asking, "Deonna- this place has missed me too much, right?"
Deonna quickly looked up at me and her eyes went wide. "Oh my God- have you been alright, Dominic," She stumbled out of her chair and came from behind the front desk to greet me. ".. wait.. wait, why're you here?" She questioned with a flare of her upper lip.
