Chapter 8: The Dragons Nest

The next day during training, there was quite a large crowd watching us fight the Gronckle.

"Stay out of my way, I'm winning this thing", Astrid said to Hiccup while they were hiding behind a small wooden barrier.

"Go ahead, please, by all means", Hiccup said to her as she rolled away.

Astrid obviously had a plan, unlike me and Hiccup, you both knew you couldn't work together since its an individual fight so you tried to stay by yourself as much as possible, this round was supposed to narrow the winner down to two people, it was either going to be you, Astrid or Hiccup. Astrid moved fast and changed places frequently, Hiccup just sat there and you stay more to one area.

"This, time, this time for sure", Astrid yelled, still speaking to herself.

Hiccup had told you before the fight that he didn't want to win, so you had to out shine Hiccup but make Astrid seem better, seemed easy enough, but you didn't want Astrid killing that dragon, but as long as Hiccup loses, everything should be fine.

Astrid got up and started yelling in my direction, but by the time she came over, the Gronckle was on the ground with its tongue out and its leg up, 'I barely did anything' you thought 'shit, I better not win this'.

"No! No, son of a half-troll, rat eating, munge-bucket!", Astrid was extremely pissed off.

"Wait! Wait!", Stoic said calming the audience.

"So uh- yeah bye", you said grabbing Hiccup, trying to get out of there.

"Uh oh, not so fast", Gobber grabbed you and stopped you from leaving.

"Okay, Quite down! The elder has decided", Stoic yelled from above the arena.

Gobber put his hand over Astrid's head, the elder shook her head, Gobber put his hand over my head, she nodded.

"Wait.....shit", you said under your breath.

"Oh, you've done it, you've done it Y/N, you get to kill the dragon", Gobber grabbed you and puled you into a hug.

Everybody was congratulating you and throwing you around.

"I'm so excited, yay", you said sarcastically.

Once you got put down and let out of the arena you walked around in the forest with Hiccup.

"What am I supposed to do??" You asked him.

"Well your not going to kill it, so you could always try to show them that there not bad creatures?" Hiccup gave you that Idea, which could work.

"But what if it goes wrong, it took you a couple days to gain Tootless's trust, how do I do that in a matter of minutes?!" you yelled slightly, you were really over thinking this. You finally made to the cove .

"Hey look, I'll be there, hop on, maybe this will calm you down", Hiccup got on Toothless and you got on behind him. You'd never been flying before, so you wondered if it would calm you down or not.

"Toothless, be slow", Hiccup told his dragon as he took off.

You immediately gripped onto Hiccup tighter, you dug your facing into the crook of his neck.

"Look, come on", you opened your eyes and saw a beautiful pink sky, only for it to be ruined when Toothless started spinning for some reason.

"Holy SHIT!", you yelled as you started spinning.

"And now he's spinning, thank you for nothing, you useless reptile", Hiccup said sighing.

He stopped for a second then started going up and down over and over again.

"We're trying to make her like me back not hate me!" Hiccup yelled.

"Wait what-!", you yelled as you only just stopped getting thrown around.

Toothless became calmer as Hiccup realised what he said.

"Uhhh- so-", Hiccup stuttered a bit.

"You like me?" You asked, followed by silence. "Be honest".

"Okay yeah, I do, ever since my Dad put you in charge of watching me", Hiccup responded.

"That's when we were like 12", you responded with wide eyes, "I thought you liked Astrid?"

"I said that as a cover up", Hiccup chuckled slightly, "I'm surprised it worked- uh, Toothless, bud, you okay?"

You flew into darker, thicker clouds and Toothless seemed to know exactly where to go. There was a lot of screeching and roaring. Turns out Toothless wasn't the only dragon there.

"What in the-", you said.

"Toothless you gotta get us out of here bud", he said leaning closer to him. "It looks like they're hauling in their kill".

"Uh- yeah cause that's totally normal", you said sarcastically, trying to lighten the mood.

Toothless started diving over and under rocks until you were lead into a large volcano type structure. With a large hole in the middle for dragons to drop there food.

"What my Dad wouldn't give to find this", Hiccup said.

"What I wouldn't give to get the fuck out of here, lets leave", you said.

"Hold on", he told you.

Toothless flew over into a wall cavity and watched as more dragons dropped their food in.

"Its satisfying to know that all of our food has been dumped down a hole", Hiccup said.

"Their probably feeding something down there", you responded.

A Gronckle flew over the hole and regurgitated a little bit of food, unlike the other who brought whole food. It wasn't until a couple seconds later that a giant dragon came up out of the hole and eat the Gronckle.

"Holy shit, okay you were right", Hiccup said with wide eyes.

"Yep, uh-huh, okay, lets get the fuck out of here", you said, but turns out the big dragon's, big ass nostrils aren't entirely for show, their actually really good because the big ass dragon almost killed you on your way out, causing all the other dragons to leave too because they didn't want to die either.

"Okay, so it's like a giant bee-hive", you said when landing back on Berk.

"Yeah basically", Hiccup responded.

"What are we gonna do, your Dad has been looking for that place for years, so has every other Viking here", I ask him getting off Toothless.

"Well, he'll kill Toothless so we can't tell him...I'm not sure, I'll sleep on it", Hiccup responded, fixing his shirt slightly.

"Okay well thanks for taking me up there anyway, it was fun", you began to walk away.

"Anytime", Hiccup said.

You quickly turned back around and gave him a kiss on the cheek. You looked at each-other for a second, then you ran off back home.
