In Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland, the Mad Hatter asks the question, "Have you any idea why a raven is like a writing desk?"

The answer to this is Lewis Carol's, the author of the original novel Alice in Wonderland, own words. He said, "Because they both can produce notes, though they are very flat; and it is never put with the wrong end in front!"
