In the original fairytale of Cinderella, Cinderella's stepmother hands the stepsisters a knife and were told to have cut off their toes and heels to fit the glass slippers. But the Prince notices the gushing blood coming from their feet. The Prince asks the stepmother if there was another maiden in the household and Cinderella is brought down and fitted with the glass shoes.
During the wedding of the Prince and Cinderella, the stepsisters went to the chapel to gain favor of Cinderella, but two birds pecked one eye from each stepsister. When the left the chapel, screaming in pain, the two birds pecked out the remaining eyes, so they could live the rest of their life in blidness.
