((Just to let you all know, a lot of facts from here in are going to be Gravity Falls because I'm going through an intense Gravity Falls craze right now. :p Sue me)).
Anyway, in the very first episode of Gravity Falls, when Dipper begins to grow suspicions of Mabel's new "boyfriend", he starts to think that he is a vampire. When he goes to confront Mabel about it, he opens his book up and shows Mabel, but she notices that the page was opened up to gnomes and she questions this. Dipper recognizes his mistake and flips to the page of vampires.
However, later in the episode, it was revealed that they actually were gnomes all along.
