Tanisha was a supervisor at a telecom service provider in the heart of the city and the office was buzzing with chatter as Illy made her way through the sleek glass doors, the reception area adorned with vibrant artwork and potted ferns.

They were used to her dropping by occasionally, so she didn't have any issues getting to the right floor—well apart from being ogled by every he/she and they as usual while on her way there.

There was a time Illy used to think she was unattractive, but as she grew into herself, it was clear to her that she could really turn heads without even trying.

When she spotted Tanisha, the red haired girl had both her slender brown legs pulled up on her chair, one crossed under the other and she was filling her nails absently as she nodded slowly at someone she was speaking with on the phone.

Illy approached with pursed lips.

"Shit, Illy!" Tanisha exclaimed as soon as she spotted her. She put the call on hold and dragged her headphones down to rest around her neck, "I completely forgot you were coming."

"Eat," Illy leaned against the edge of her desk and set down the paper bag and coffee.

Tanisha rolled her eyes, "I was going to get breakfast."

"I saved you the trouble."

Illy lifted a brow at her and when Tanisha realized she wasn't about to budge, she sighed, and begrudgingly grabbed the cup.

Illy watched her take a long sip and relaxed.

She knew her friend too well to believe that breakfast was truly on the agenda.

Tanisha's secret battle had been going on long before Illy met her in college and Illy had seen her at her lowest more than once so she made sure to have lunch with her at least a few times a month, as long as she had the time.

Just like Illy never talked about why she got her night terrors, Tanisha's reason was not something they openly discussed.

She just knew that in some way, they were both keeping each other's sanity in tact.

A masculine laugh carried across the cubicles and Tanisha's face twisted into a grimace.

"Ugh, Greg," She groaned, rolling her eyes, "He's been such a pain today, asking for pictures of you. Can't stand that perv," as she took another sip, she waved Illy backwards, "You should go before he comes over again. I know you hate his cheese breath. Ooh and tell me how lunch goes with Mr. Kovàcs," She drawled his name in a sultry voice, and Illy scrunched up her face.

"Shut up."

Tanisha grinned, "Remember how you were practically gushing after that first interview?" She waggled her brows before attempting to mimic Illy's voice, "I want to have this man's babies."
