Chapter 12

Lynn

We patiently waited as Mrs. Lillian filled out all necessary forms. And we then grabbed some food and made our way back to the hotel. We explained to Brandon that he would be going home with Mrs. Lillion and that we would see him in a few days. I knew we would be able to get him im just glad that it was sooner rather than later.

"You promise that you guys are coming to get me?" He asked the next morning at the airport.

"I promise kid. We just have to do a few things here and then we'll come."

"Okay."

"You're going to have a lot of fun while you're with me. I'm nothing like that mean lady you were with." Lillion said. She grew angry once we told her about what that woman was doing to him. We all were still so angry from it.

"I know." She pulled him into a hug and he leaned his body against her's. "Do I have a granddad?" He asked out of the blue.

"My husband passed away years ago honey."

"Oh. I'm sorry."

"And my real dad?" He asked Tammi.

"He passed away as well." Lillion butt in but Tammi stopped her.

"Let's not start this off with lies." She said as she went to her son. "I don't know where your father is. He left me before you were even born. He ran from his responsibilities, but I don't know if I could even be mad at him because I did the same." She said with a sigh.

"You made sure that I had a good home, but he just left you with a baby. That's not the same. I had a really good home before my adoptive parents died." He hugged her. "I'm glad I'm with you now." I watched as she fought back tears. 

"Lynn said that same thing."

"That's because it's true. I'm glad I found you mom." He hugged her tight and this time the tears came. "Now I have a family. Thank you." Once he pulled away, he whipped her tears. "Just promise to come get me."

"I promise. As soon as we're finished here, we'll come to get you." Saying our finally goodbyes they boarded the plane. Going to her I hugged her from the back, and she sighed. 

"I feel as if I'm letting him down again."

"Well don't feel that way. He's going with your mother. That woman is not going to let anything happen to him. She's going to spoil him with pizza and ice cream." We shared a laugh.

"And grilled burger and hotdogs."

"Right." We laughed harder. "Let's get out of here." Taking her hand, I lead the way to the car, and we made our way back to the hotel room. She flopped on the bed, and I began to strip ready to take a shower. Making sure the water was warm I stepped inside. I knew just when she had entered the bathroom without looking. I felt her presence. 

"Babe..."

"How did you know I was in here?" 

"Because I felt you. Can you do me a favor?"

"Sure."

"Can you wash my back? Messing with that woman got my arms a bit sore."
