  They were all gathered in the main hall obviously Ivan and Cedric sat next to each other Cedric was talking to some of his friends while Ivan was listening and make short comments whenever he was asked something. Ivan felt that someone was staring turns out he was right , it wasn't a surprise that Orion was burning holes into the back of his head. He smiled softly before turning back to his own table , soon later Dumbledore was giving out a speech Ivan didn't really bother listening. 

A couple of minutes later the 1st years are about to be called upfront to be sorted into their houses , one by one were called  " Hermione Granger....GRYFFINDOR!!! " cheers was erupted from the Gryffindor table. Soon after it was a kid with ginger hair it was obvious that he was a Weasley " Ron Weasley...GRYFFINDOR"  more cheers erupted from them Ivan smiled and clapped , last but not least it was ' the boy who lived ' the hall went silent when his name was called  "Harry Potter...." it looked like the sorting hat had a hard time sorting him in a house it reminded Ivan of something similar.

Flash back...

' Ivan Vervain..' young Ivan came upfront as the hat was placed on his head it started rambling that only Ivan and the hat could be heard. ' Cunning...you would do well in Slytherin..brave and quite adventurous like a Gryffindor , brains like a Ravenclaw...majority of the Vervain family was a Ravenclaw some was a Gryffindor or a Slytherin but none was a Hufflepuff...but i can envision you as a Hufflepuff you'll do well as a student you might not always be the nicest but you'll help people to find themselves guide them like a star in the darkest night..' 

Young Ivan didn't say anything ' HUFFLEPUFF!!!! ' 

he could still remember the cheers and how he was welcomed when he joined Hufflepuff.

Flash back ended..

" GRYFFINDORRR "  cheers were booming it was truly a happy moment for the Gryffindor's on that day. The feast had begun students were stuffing their faces with food. After awhile they all were escorted to their dorms , Ivan and Cedric has always shared their room together since day1. They walked into their room Ivan flopping onto his bed while Cedric changes into his night attire , Ivan couldn't help but stare at Cedric a blush crept onto his face. Cedric has always been taller than him and definitely stronger. Before Cedric caught him staring he quickly looked away , " you should change your attire " " i will i will.." Ivan stood up and took his clothes off and placed it aside suddenly Cedric placed his hands on Ivan's waist causing him to yelp. " i didn't realize how small your waist is " Cedric was to busy focusing on Ivan's waist he didn't realized how red Ivan was.

" Cedric...can you please let me change.." Cedric nervously laughed as he let's go of Ivan's waist. Ivan changes into his night wear , they stayed up chatting their mind away once they realized how late it was Ivan decided to head to bed Cedric wanted to stay up late with his friends. So Ivan said his goodnights and walked away.

Cedric watched as Ivan's silhouette disappeared from his sight.

How Cedric regretted not heading to sleep with Ivan. " soo..you're not going to tell us anything about you and Ivan " they snickered. I rolled my eyes " there's nothing between us just bestfriends " they started laughing as if i made the funniest joke.

Ivan was sitting in the main hall eating breakfast before his classes starts , Cedric sat by him waving to a couple of people. " good morning Ivan " he looked at Cedric and muttered out a good morning. " excited for classes? " Cedric kept his question short and simple , since he didn't want to annoy Ivan " my first class is herbology im quite excited " Cedric ruffled his hair. Before Ivan left to go to his class Cedric whispered something into his ear " if you aren't busy after your classes come to the field and watch me practice ".

Ivan nodded his head and went to his classes.

His classes aren't any different than before he was doing well helping other students, he was also doing well with his other classes. Right now he's just walking with Orion since his classes has already ended " the Potter boy made it into the quidditch team " that somewhat peaked Ivan's interest " oh? " Orion kept on rambling about it and Ivan just kept quite and listened.

They parted ways and Ivan walks to the field since he agreed to watch Cedric practice. He bumped into Oliver and Harry and smiled " hello Oliver also congrats Harry it's rare for a 1st year to be able to join the quidditch team that fast " Harry mumbled a thank you as Oliver chuckled and ruffled Harry's hair " he's a talented one " Ivan nodded in agreement " i can tell.. i shouldn't delay you're time anymore talk to you later Oliver " he gave one last smile to both of them.

He saw Cedric practicing with his team , as Cedric saw Ivan he flew down so he could talk to Ivan. Their face was so close their lips was almost touching " you actually came " Ivan scoffed " did you really think i would ditch you " he flicked Cedric's forehead. Cedric's teammates was calling for him " now go and practice ill wait for you here " Ivan smiled as he sees Cedric went back to practice. He waited till the practice ended , Cedric ran up to him with a smile " so..? what did you think about the practice " Cedric questioned while they were walking towards the main hall for the Halloween feast " you did well Cedric the quidditch camps your father enrolled you in was definitely worth it ".

They arrived at the main hall eating their dinner and finished up suddenly Professor Quirrell came in running informing that an escaped troll has entered the castle. All of them were led back to their dorms but Ivan managed to slid out and ran towards the loud noises, there he saw three familiar faces Ron and Harry who was trying to fight the troll while Hermione was hiding under the broken sinks scared for her life. Before the troll could fight back Ivan casted his spell " PROTEGO " a shield casted over the boys the troll fell back onto his arse Ivan striked again " STUPEFY " the troll was now unconscious Ivan ran towards the three student checking if they were doing alright.

The teachers rushed and saw the unconscious troll , Ivan spoke up " I found these three here so i..these two were brave enough to fight the troll to save their friend " Professor Snape snarled as Professor Quirrell fainted at the sight of the troll. Dumbledore spoke up " thank you mr.Vervain now run along we'll handle this " Ivan nodded and left the scene.

As he was walking away the golden trio looked at him with awe. When Ivan arrived at his dorm he was greeted with Cedric hugging him tightly " I thought you were in danger thank god you're alright " Ivan returned the hug and smiled " there's no need to worry now im here " they looked at each other and smiled.

Talked to one another before calling it a day.
