The shock

James POV

"WHAT?" Said Sirius black, holding one of his best friends, Remus Lupin's, muggle newspaper.

"No way..." said James, he had bullied Severus for years but he didn't like him in a relationship not with Lily not with anyone.... For a reason.

"He's a royal and engaged now?" Said Remus, shocked, but not as shocked as Sirius, and Sirius not as shocked as James.

"Well we should- sorry I meant YOU TWO should not bully him anymore." Said Remus.

"...mmmm...ehhhh.....uhhh" Remus, also known as moony glared at him, "fine" said Sirius who had almost never gotten a glare from moony even when he was a d!<kh£@d (tried to spell it out without the least letters for fun.) and when he did get a glare from moony it was only once in 6 years of him knowing him and that's when moony was in werewolf form.

"You guys should apologize to him, in fact, do it now." Said Remus looking at Sirius then James then Sirius and then James, Sirius James Sirius James Sirius James Peter!

"You too Peter."

"Ok," said Peter with his face full of food. Remus smiled.

"Finish eating then apologize"

When Peter finishes eating

They get up and walk to the Slytherin table where Severus is.

"Sni- Snape we wanted to apologize for what we did," said James to Severus, almost calling him by the mean nickname they gave him to make fun of him.

"Yeah we hope to have peace between us" said Sirius awkwardly.

"And we hope for you to forgive us for what we did." Said Peter, sincerely.

Severus looked at each of them.

"Your forgiven...." Said Severus going back to eating his food.

"Really?" Said James surprised but also happy.

"Yes and I would rather that you leave me alone and never talk to me again" Severus said which made James smile fall, but it quickly came up again.

"Oh don't you worry Severus I will protect you now," James said to Severus leaning down so his face was at Severus's level, mind you Severus is sitting so he's not THAT short but still short, "just you wait." James and the rest of the marauders walked back to their table,

"Omg what did you do?" Said lupin, grimacing at the. 3 other marauders.

"What do you mean moony?" Asked James's happily.

"Snape is looking a bit annoyed if you asked me." Said moony A.K.A Remus.

Severus looked sour and annoyed and when James saw him James just smiled and waved which just made Severus scowl with annoyed vibes, not hate vibes.

"I am promised him I would protect him." Said James, delighted.

"Mhmm, you do remember he is engaged right? With a husband and royal guards to protect him right?" Moony said, prongs face fell for a quick second at the mention of Severus being engaged but everyone thought they imagined it since it had been so quick.

"Then I'll be his personal guard after Hogwarts." Said James grinning so wide his mouth could rip.

"You're not actually serious right , after all I'm the only 'serious ' here." Said Sirius, nervous cause when James sets his mind to something he won't let it go.

"Oh guess there's gonna be two 'serious's' here " said James before getting up and going to the Slytherin table to tell Severus what he wanted to do.

"WHAT. No way. Nuh-uh. No. Nope. Never." Denied Severus, no way James actually wanted to be his bodyguard.

"Ha ha just you wait Severus, I'll become your personal bodyguard in no time." Stated James arrogantly. "After all, the potters have connections around the world."

"Oh god."Groaned Severus, knowing he was right, maybe he wasn't serious.

"See you later Severus!" James exclaimed as he ran away, wait did he just use his first name? Severus had a wonderful feeling in his stomach, though he was not sure why.
