  The rest of the ride had the usual silent atmosphere, only the sound of horse's steps and a few fallen branches from trees crushed by wagons' wheels had us quite distracted except the chief who still held on her expressionless aura around her and the rest had determined looks with some terrified of what might possibly and will happen after a few seconds. Kris had came back to the formation,

  "Status." the chief plainly said

  "Some of them had gathered around us, chief. Though, we took the frontliners down."

  "Good job, now keep an eye out for any more signs of them, if you do see one, use a pad."

  "Yes, chief." Moments later, those beings had us surrounded, as estimated by Suho, we sacrificed two soldiers from the left ground. Their corpses were wrapped in white cloth and buried under the ground. I pitied them so much, I pity everyone, even myself, humanity is sacrificing everything to break out of this living hell and yet, none of our ancestors had survived, although they have left us  enough information to adden up our knowledge. And the good thing is, there was an increase of recuits coming from other fences. I smiled to myself then got startled by Lay's sudden outburst,

  "A total of seven, chief! Two from the back, three from the right and the remaining has been slained!"

  "Luhan, Sehun, take care of the back, I'll handle the three." I scanned te area and saw more.
 
  "They're advancing in our formation." I said loud enough for everyone to hear. There I heard Xiumin cuss.

  "What do we do, chief?" One of the chief's squad members asked and she didn't respod for a moment, she observed the environment.

  "How far is our stop from here, Suho?"

  "About 12 minutes, chief!" She seemed to flinch and then ordered something she'd risk her life for it.

  "All of you, gather yourselves to the 3rd formation. My squad will be the first layer, followed by EXO and then so on. Wait for me and Shiro to come back at the base. Rei will give the other details later. We'll clear out the area with the best we can do."

  "But chief--"
 
  "That is an order. Now gallop to the base as fast as you can, make sure I see all of you shitheads when I return." With that, she disappeared from the frontlines with her secretary leaving her horse taken care of with Minyoung since she had been riding with Suga the whole time. She mouthed a good luck and followed the rest to the base. Take care, Kyouko.

Minyoung

  12 minutes. We had reached the base, we had been caught in a small wave of those disgusting beings though Yu's squad took care of it. Everyone was waiting impatiently for a comeback of the two and no one said a single word, no one bothered to speak up until Rei, the chief's brother and the successor of our leader came from the abandoned house....or should I say base.

  "The place is clear. Now everyone, tie your horses up there," he pointed to an entrance to the base. "then climb up the roof and reach for nearby branches, we'll stay there for the night." he paused, glancing at the path where we just came. "and wait for Chief and Shiro. Now go." We did as what told and minutes added, still no sign of them. I was told Shiro was the one who requested for this research since he discovered something unlike to the giants' behavior a year ago. I ran a hand on my face then through my fair, sweeping the tiredness away from my appearance.
