Carrying a toolbox, a man-wearing a black boots, jumper pants, on a white, dirtied shirt-enters the school gate. The security saw him but just ignored him since he's been regularly called there.
"Armstrong," the school principal of their local high school calls him over the phone earlier, "we need your service this afternoon, only if you are free. The air-conditioning inside the tenth-grade's classroom malfunctioned yesterday, we need your service."
He agreed and immediately went uptown.
Walking through the hallway, his curly, lengthened hair dances with the warm air. He cannot stop himself from turning his head to glance inside the rooms that are having classes.
The teacher intently reads his book, asking, "What do you call the form of energy formed by the presence of electrons..."
The man smiles, "Electricity." whispering his answer as he passes by.
"Room 16, History Class?" The man speaks after he knocked on the open door.
"Yes! Are you the one who's gonna fix the air-conditioning?" A middle-aged lady with large glasses-he assumed to be the professor-asked him.
He nodded and the woman immediately said, "Fix it please, the poor children need it." She says as she rapidly uses his large collapsible fan. The man immediately started by taking the air-con from the wall and carefully started looking through its parts. He turns his attention back to the class and notices two students standing in front of the class, with a wide paper presentation attached to the board.
"You may begin." The professor instructed them.
The girl next to the board started, "For centuries, humans have coexisted with the other creatures on the planet. Some of them rose along with them to lead and rise, but some of them opposed."
The man continued fixing as he intently listened to the lesson, "A disastrous event happened two centuries ago, the Great World War, where almost half of all creatures were decimated, and some were extirpated within six years of chaos."
The boy on the left side of the board speaks, "The clash between the two Kingdoms, Goldenia and Hyperion brought demise not just to their races, but also to the whole planet."
"The destructive war was caused by the ruthless, barbaric race of humans once called Lone Barbarians. They want to prove that they are the most powerful human race in the world-by conquering everything. To achieve their goal, they allied with the Hyperion Empire." The boy flipped the cardboard to show its other side. "This was an Empire ruled by Demons," gasps filled the room, also catching the man's attention. "from the depths of the unknown hell, in the Continent of Barbaria. These demons were known from the myths and legends coming from the first civilizations who lived and ruled the Earth."
"Demons are real?!" A girl squeals in fear.
"Calm down, Karen," her seatmate calms her.
"These creatures were known to possess the power of darkness, preferring to live in dark places like thick forests, caves, ravines, old mines, and even inside volcanoes. Compared to other human-like beings, demons can live for more than centuries. The elders of the first civilizations believed that caverns were entrances with interconnected mazes that either stop you or lead you to their kingdom, deep beneath the surface of the Earth. And with their alliance with the naive Barbarians, they could finally conquer and rule the surface of the Earth and spread darkness, war, and chaos."
"Darkness?" One of the students at the back asked disrespectfully, "Like magic?" The whole class laughed.
"Class, stop laughing!" The professor raised her voice as she continued to fan herself. "Continue."
