Screwed

Somewhere between being dragged and being tied to a chair did Ominis black out. But when his eyes reopened and the spell had worn off did the struggle to free himself begin
"I wouldn't do that if I was you runt" runt...Marvolo
"Brother..." oh it was home alright, the same stench of his fathers so called cologne and mothers warbling after her nightly red wines. He could assume he was in his old bedroom. But something about it was off, he couldn't quite put his finger on it
"Didn't think to stop by and say hi? Is that how we treat family brother? Very rude of you" blow to his face. He remembered these well- how his brother would hold him down and pummel him over and over until eventually his mother would get bored and pull them apart. Scolding Ominis for not fighting back and being weak, how he would cry in the wardrobe until he knew everyone had gone to bed so he could crawl out and grab his blanket to once more sleep in there.
"Why should I? I'm not here to see family brother I'm here on work. You do realise I could have the Ministry here in mere minutes to send you to Azkaban for this" another blow to the face but this time he felt a crack to the bridge of his nose
"Let me guess, looking for that Dorian girl? She had a lot of questions and a lot of things to say the mouthy bitch. Acted like she knew us all because of the little tales you spun her" Ominis let the rage build through his body, he wanted to scream, he knew if she came here she probably didn't leave
"What did you do with her you bastard!" Blood filled his mouth, spitting it to the floor he hoped it landed on Marvolo at least
"Oh don't you worry about your little girlfriend. She escaped and mother told me to let her go, how she'd learnt her lesson. You... not so much" so she got out, thank Merlin! If she's got out then maybe she isn't far

Time seemed to slowly pass with each blow to the face, he probably looked unsightly but he knew he wasn't at least far behind Eliza now. He just had to get out of here. To find her and be done with this.

Sebastian's POV
Ominis had been so caught up in fumbling around he hadn't realised Sebastian tailing him. The moment from the cliffs he had sensed it wouldn't be right to sit back and let him endanger himself for this case. He knew Ominis wouldn't give up until he brought her home, even though he wouldn't admit it. In those few pages he flicked through he knew more about their relationship than he cared to admit. How Ominis had distanced from her when he got his job and how she had cried herself silly. She had planned to confront the Gaunt's over how much they had traumatised their son. If she had spoken to him he would have told her it wasn't worth the risk. He knew how sadistic Marvolo was, the beatings he would give just for the sheer fun of it so he could laugh at their pain he inflicted.

It had been hours now and Ominis still hadn't left the graveyard. What could possibly be so captivating to him that he would stay in there for hours on end?! But he knew he wasn't alone when watching Ominis, how the figure by the graveyard gates stared in to a place he couldn't see. Cloaked in the pouring rain it clung to his face.
Grabbing a nearby candle he feigned going to a nearby grave to get a better look. The sight shocked him; how he stumbled to his feet, leaving the now empty bottle behind him. His face almost looked like he had been crying but that could be the rain. The figure watching from the gates walked a few steps behind a very drunk Ominis. He didn't stand a chance grabbing hold of his wand to save him. With a thud on the floor the figure dragged him back up the road.Pressing himself against the wall he blended in to the stone and mossy wall. Poor Ominis... following in the tree line his stomach swirled at the house he dragged into. House of Gaunt.

Blood dried around his mouth

Blood dried around his mouth. It had to have been hours by now yet Marvolo hadn't tired of his little game.
"MOTHER! COME CHECK WHO'S PAID US A LITTLE VISIT" Marvolo bellowed. The click of her high heels followed down the hallway, she was no doubt passing the portraits that got burnt to a crisp when they was either disowned or left the tree. It was surprising that they was such a prestigious family yet so many family members branched off because they disagreed with their morales. He wondered if his portrait was burnt. Squealing at the sight in front of her- Ominis could only assume how horrible it looked.
"You didn't tell me you'd brought him back here! And yet again Ominis you didn't fight back, pathetic as always! CRUCIO" her favourite punishment had his body involuntarily spasming against the chair, his fingertips twinged automatically. How it spread to his neck and felt like he was being choked by a hundred coarse fibres, prickling like needles. His eyes rolled back into his head- his mouth dried and tears stung at the corners.
"Maybe I could have fought back if he hadn't tied me up like an animal. I suggest you get me out of this chair mother. I work for the Ministry now and all it takes is me contacting them and you all go to Azkaban for this" mumbling under her breath the rope dropped to the floor. Rubbing his wrists Ominis pulled out his own wand and pointed it at his mother
"Expelliarmus" he heard her scream followed by the splintering of the door
"YOU DARE CAST AT YOUR OWN MOTHER!?" Smirking he felt a sense of some satisfaction
"You was never my mother. You cursed me, let my siblings curse me and torment me because I didn't follow your rules. Then when Eliza shows up you do this same stuff to her!? You're all sick and twisted and I'm glad I got away when I did" storming out the door he fell flat on his ass
"Merlin Ominis! I was this close to kicking the door down and finding you!" Sebastian pulled him up, wrapping Ominis' arm over his shoulder to guide him back to the pub

Finally he could relax; Joseph had looked the other way at his swelling face, split lip and broken nose- passing an unlabelled bottle to Sebastian with a cloth. Insisting they stay as long as they need.
Hissing through his teeth as Sebastian dabbed the stinging liquid over his cuts
"Episkey" Ominis yelped, clenching his fist that he wanted to swing, he knew Sebastian was trying to help but it was excruciatingly painful
"Why did you follow me Sebastian? Just let me do my job!" Dabbing the fresh stream of blood from his nose
"I can't just sit back Ominis. Eliza needs us both to find her. I have no doubt you do a damn good job but with us both we can find her so much quicker. You can take the credit for it I don't care but just let me help you" sinking another brandy it numbed the pain his brother gave him. He could swear a rib or two had cracked from the punches.
"Fine... lets just go to sleep I need to recover. Episkey" pointing it at the ribs, instant relief. But oh would he hurt in the morning.
Placing the journal on the bedside and the file he rolled over for some sleep.

Sebastians POV
He looked like crap; this was why he needed his help. If they teamed up at least there would be less chance of another beating. Waiting for Ominis' breathing to shallow he swiped the journal for the bedside and kept reading:
It was our final night together, well that's what he called it. I couldn't stop myself from crying but I told Ominis it was hayfever. He knew- he kissed away my tears and kept telling me it wasn't my fault it was his. But yet I felt empty and hollow inside. I guess it was for the best it would happen, soon I'd begin my search for the final chamber that was lost to the keepers, the home me and Professor Figg visited that was now in ruins was the first clue, yet when I returned I found notes I asked Amit to translate for me. This chamber will make it so I can heal curses, irreversible illnesses and maybe even blindness. If I could do that... maybe he'll come back
"Oh fuck..." Sebastian knew what she was looking for could be anywhere! They could be at this for months, he just had to hope they wasn't far behind her. Or if she had found what was desired that they could talk her out of causing damage. Only he knew how Isidora had gone besides Eliza. She couldn't go down this route again, she had to be insane! Exhaustion took over and he found his eyes drooping. Maybe by the morning it would all make sense
