The next day i woke up 7.30, I had over slept! So i threw on a white t-shirt, my ripped skinny jeans and put My hair up in a high pony tail. While walking trough My mirror i noticed that my hair had gotten longer, but it barely reached my shoulder blades. Probably one of the few things I liked about myself, It was light brown, straight, silk and shiny. I realized that I didn't have time to stare at myself in the mirror for another minute so I ran downstairs, laced up my converse and jumped in my car hoping that I'd make it to first period.
Walking down the hallway I saw Grayson standing by his locker and his tattoo faced towards me. This time I could see every inch of It. It wasn't the kind of tattoo you'd get to leave a mark on your body, It covered almost his entire arm. Drawn in black ink It was supposed to picture a map, then some sort of compass to guide the way. I wondered if it meant something or if it just was a part of his image to be the hardcore guy that didn't bother a little pain. I couldn't help but to walk up to him, so I did although I had no idea what to say.
"Getting that one really must have hurt. Even that would be a understatement. It covers like 50% of your arm"
"Umh yeah, No It wasn't that bad"
"Why a map"
"My dad, he passed away a few years ago and I wanted something in memory of him so I found a map lying around among his old stuff and decided to ink it onto my arm instead"
"Oh I'm so sorry."
"I don't really know where the map leads but I've always wanted to find out"
"Maybe Someday you will"
"Yeah, someday."
"Well, I guess I'll see you around"
"Have a great day!"
Meeting him like this became a habit. This was the first Time I actually looked forward to going to school, because it was only then I could meet him. It felt good talking to a person that wasn't my mom. I got to know more about him also while my social life became more interesting. Given that it was Grayson I was talking to made it even better, but having conversations with him 20 minutes every day wasn't enough. I wanted more, but I wasn't sure if he did.
