Ghost BC - Trans Papas

V - Beach Day pt.1

It's been a couple months since Secondo's had his top surgery and since he's been recovering well, the Clergy decided to celebrate his transition with a day at the beach, knowing he's wanted to finally go there shirtless for years if not decades.
"I'm so excited for you!", Copia would say, dancing around the van.
"Yeah sure", Secondo sighed, though he had to hold back a smile at the fact his little brother was so excited for him. He himself was very excited and extremely nervous. Secondo may not seem like it but he's extremely shy when it comes to his body so going shirtless at the beach was a huge step for him and his anxiety.
"D'you really think today is a good day?", he asked with an uncertain gaze towards the sky, hoping to spot a dark cloud indicating rain so they'd postpone the trip.
"What are you talking about?", Terzo replied while following the gaze of his brother towards the clear blue sky. Secondo sighed defeated, there was no way around this.
"Come on, let's get in", Primo suggested as he stepped outside the ministry with a book and a beach ball.
His brothers raised their eyebrows sceptically but gave up on questioning as the Ghouls hurry outside with little shovels and sand forms.
"You guys are all settled?", Copia asked them with a sigh and they'd nod excitedly.
They've never been to the beach before so today was a big day for them too.
"Are you sure we should let Nihil in the van with the sandwiches though?", Cirrus asked uncertain.
"He'll have eaten them all by the time we arrived"
"No worries, he knows we'll cut off the tube to his oxygen tank if he does", Terzo laughed and Cirrus couldn't hold back her laughter either.
A few minutes later, the crew finally found themselves in the vans on their way to the beach.
"When are we there? When are we there? When are we there?", Sodo and Swiss kept repeating while Aether shared his bananas amongst the others.
"Damn how many time do I have to say it? About an hour!"
"No, the timer just jumped, it's only 59 minutes now!", Rain said excited.
"So when are we there now Copia?", Swiss asked again and the Cardinal was about to bite in the wheel.
"Aether, I thought we said we wouldn't have snacks until we've arrived", he then said, trying to distract from the Ghoul's questions.
"Oh I just thought maybe some of us are already hungry by now. D'you want a banana?", he looked cutely at the Papa and he was close to accepting but knew he shouldn't while driving.
"Thank you but no, I'll wait until we're there"
"So how's Secondo's surprise doing?", Terzo asked now, curiously looking at the back row.
"As good as done", Phantom said with a wide smile.
"If we're there before them, we could practice it once again".
"Alright", Terzo thanked him and gave his brother a little punch in the side, indicating for him to go faster. About fifty minutes later, the twelve of them arrived at the beach and the Ghouls stormed outside the van like a bunch of wild bees.
"Sand!", Sodo screamed excited.
"It's so warm and sandy!", Aether added.
"No way!", Sunshine then yelled and everyone was holding their breaths.
"Look at those waves!", she'd then exclaim and everyone ran towards the sea.
"No, stop!", Copia could only shout before the first of them landed into the cold, fresh water. While Sodo, Aurora and Rain dived around, not carding about their clothes getting wet, the others heard the cardinal's call and turned around.
"You guys wanted to practice Secondo's surprise", he could only say while shaking his head and the three in the water made an apologetic face.
They took a moment to dry and then went to practice while Copia and Terzo built up their camp. A few towels, a cool box with iced drinks and a few of Aether's bananas. The rest would arrive with the other's.
"Come, have a last moment of rest with me",
Terzo said to his brother and patted the towels next to his. The two of them laid down with a smile and sunglasses resting on their noses, making the sun sting their mismatched eyes not as much.
"D'you think fratello will like it?"
"I'm sure he will, even though he'll deny it. I can tell he was a little nervous this morning", Copia said and laid his arm around his stomach, resting it there.
"I've noticed that too, he's been so excited about this ever since his too surgery but of course he's still a little insecure"
"I hope no one will comment on his scars"
"They won't, they're good Ghouls. They know what he's been through and value his courage to come out and transition. But they know what a tough time it's been so they'd never do or say anything to hurt him", the Cardinal now stared at the sun, slowly getting lost in thoughts. He remembered what it's been like for his brother, how his coming out consisted of yelling at everyone that he's a man because he was afraid to get hurt if he explained it calmly. There was not really the time to say anything about it since everyone was busy being flabbergasted about suddenly being yelled at and receiving such important news. But of course Secondo had received nothing but support from that time on, no matter whether he was at his highest or lowest.
"What are you thinking about there, Fratellino?", a sassy old voice suddenly asked the Cardinal from above and he opened his eyes rapidly to see his brother's fave hover above his with a slight smile.
"Secondo!", he exclaimed happily and jumped up from his towel, almost knocking Terzo over.
"Ghouls, assemble!", he waved the Ghouls over quickly and with a confused look on his face, Secondo watched them gather in a circle around him.
"Let's go to the beach-each", Swiss started and the Papa raised his eyebrows.
"Let's go get a wave", Sodo joined with his voice.
"They say what they gonna say", Aether and Aurora joined.
This would continue until everyone was singing "I'm on the floor, floor! I love to dance-"
"So give me more, more, 'til I can't stand", Secondo now joined them with a smile. They all sung together and as the song had come to an end, the circle would dissolve and the Ghouls all stormed towards the water, closely followed by Secondo who now pulled his shirt over his head and threw it into the sand.
As the cold water splashed against his free chest, he felt like crying from happiness.
Everyone was watching him, their eyes sparkling in joy to see the man finally happy again.
"This is the best day ever!", he laughed and knew it surely was.
"Catch!", his older brother suddenly said and threw the beach ball at him. The man was caught by surprise and only hit the ball to the side where it would accidentally hit Copia.
"Hey", he laughed and threw it back at his brother. The wind however dragged it away and made it fall between Mountain and Phantom. Quickly, the two of them swam over to the spot and tried catching it but suddenly Cirrus dived up from underneath and grabbed it.
"Too bad, boys", she laughed and tossed it over to Sunshine who's pass it over to Terzo.
As to be expected, he had not paid attention to the game as he was busy flirting with a fellow tourist as the ball hit the back of his head. With fright in their eyes, everyone stared at him, unable to see his face which made them even more insecure.
