—Ana POV—

She held her sniper rifle firmly, she was unsure of what awaited her. Ana left to go find Gabriel and Jack, as they had both gone missing.

Ana knew Jack left to find Gabriel, and she about knew where they would both be.

Talon. It had worried Ana about Gabriels behavior as he acted skittish and almost shy, which was very out of character for him.

Ana wanted to reach out to Gabriel and tell him he was always welcome to stay with them, and that he belonged. But by that time, it was too late.

She felt guilty for waiting instead of just saying it, she felt as if it were her fault they were both gone now.

Ana forced Angela to stay back at the Watchpoint, as she didn't want to put her and Angela in danger.

She assured Angela she could make it perfectly fine on her own for this short mission, she hoped at least.

As she was creeping upon the building, she noticed a figure laying on the ground, not too far away from it.

She used the scope on her rifle to inspect it from a distance, and what she saw made her quickly put it down and rush over to it.

It was Gabriel. Laying on the ground with his eyes closed and blood all over his face and body, and on the ground beneath him.

He looked dead. Ana panicked and checked his pulse on his wrist immediately. There was nothing.

Her eyes widened and she quickly fumbled around around in her bag, to see if there was some sort of healing she could use on him.

Looking around in her bag, it was a bit messy being full of all sorts of things, sleeping darts, poison darts, and not what she was looking for.

But suddenly she heard a groaning noise below her. Her eyes quickly darted to Gabriel, and it was him. He was awake.

He attempted to stretch while lying down but let out a wince in pain instead. Ana looked at him in confusion and concern.

"How are you... how are you still alive...?? You have deep cuts all over your face and your body..." she asked, gently touching his face.

He flinched at her touch, then realized who it was.

His expression softened when his eyes met Ana's, but then quickly went away, as he tried to get up.

"I don't have time to just.. sit around.." he groaned, trying to pull himself up.

Ana stood up and helped Gabriel up. As soon as he got to his feet, he headed towards the building again.

"Gabriel!" Ana shouted at him. "You are in terrible condition right now, you are not going anywhere!"

Gabriel ignored her and began to try to find a way in yet again. Ana sighed and walked over to him.

"Where is Jack and what is going on?"
He made a noise that sounded like a gust of frustration built up inside of him.

"They took him." He said lowly. Ana's eyes widened, and she pushed to find out all the details.

"Who did? And wh-"
"Talon. He made a deal with Talon. That if they let me go he would take my place. And..." he said, now trembling.

Ana put a hand on his shoulder, gently. "What happened then, Gabriel?"

He then spun around, now facing Ana. And she could see his tired eyes, with dark circles underneath them from what she assumed was crying.

He had tears rolling off his face, and she could tell by looking at him it had to be painful with all of those sore cuts.

"I tried to stop them Ana. I tried to stop him." He said, as if he was desperately trying to get her to understand.

Ana was shocked. She didn't exactly know what to say or do. She just knew Gabriel needed Angela's help, badly.

"I BELONG HERE! HE DOESN'T!" He shouted, tears filling his eyes before they rolled off his face again.

Ana tried to hug him, but he pushed her away gently.

"No... I don't deserve you. I don't deserve Jack.. I don't.."

She pulled him into a hug forcefully.
"It's going to be okay Gabriel. We are here for you, and we are going to fight like hell to get Jack out of there." She said, unsure if they could against Talon's giant army, but she had no doubts she could always trust them.

Gabriel sniffled quietly, trying to hide the fact he was very vulnerable at the moment being.

He pulled back again, and turned to Talon.

"I have to go find a way in."
"You need help first, at least a little. Both to help Jack and yourself."

Gabriel scoffed. "This was never about me. Its about Jack. I don't have time to just wait around. I know what its like with her. I know what shes going to do to him."

Gabriel spun around, and began for the building again.

Then it hit Ana, her sleeping darts.

Gabriel fell onto the soft grass, with his eyes closed. Ana picked him up using her knees to help lift him.

Ana was very strong and didn't struggle with this, as being in the soldier enhancement program, it made her strength superhuman.

She put him over her shoulder and as quickly as possible headed back towards the watchpoint.
