Gabriel woke to the sound of two voices, speaking softly as if to not wake someone.

"Is he going to be okay, Angela?" Ana whispered.
Gabriel opened his eyes very slowly. He blinked a couple times and looked around the room.

Ana and Angela were both startled as he looked at them.

"I guess that answers your question." Angela smiled.

They both came over to him, inspecting him. Gabriel growled lowly, not liking the attention.

"What is going on.. where am I.." he said in a low, raspy voice.

Ana looked to Angela, with a look of worry in her eyes.

"You're in my laboratory, Gabriel. You were in need of urgent care so Ana brought you back here." Angela explained.

Gabriel laid there, looking between them both. "So... how did you..." he paused, then realized.

"Jack!" He jolted up into a sitting position on the bed. Angela put a hand on him, motioning him to lay back down.

"You can't go Gabriel, you are too weak to fight right now. Speaking of, how are you feeling?" She asked him.

He furrowed his brows. "Who the hell cares how I feel!? Jack is in serious danger right now and I don't know why I'm the only one who realizes that!" He growled, frustrated.

Ana shifted a little. "We are trying our best to find a way to get to Jack, Gabriel. We even have some more help right now." Ana said, trying to calm him.

"Thats right," Angela started. "Since Winston has been gone working on recruiting some of our old team, it's worked!"

Gabriel squinted at them, grimacing. "You don't realize what she is capable of... nobody does. Nobody understands." Gabriel said, with desperation in his voice.

"We will get Jack back. I know we will. Has anything ever gotten in our way?" Ana said to him, assuringly.

Gabriel sighed, then placed a hand on his face in frustration. He didn't feel anymore scars or wounds...

"What did you do to my face?" He asked Angela, surprised.

She smiled, slightly, and turned to her worktable. "Just some extra care and help from my new tools." She said, turning back to Gabriel.

Gabriel looked at the table she had looked at, it had plenty of things he was familiar with like biotic healing, Angela's healing staff, but also some things he had never even seen before.

Angela noticed his curiosity. "I have been working on a new type of healing... especially meant for skin in the past couple of weeks."

He adverted his eyes back to her. "What do you mean?"

"Ever since Jack was so interested in rescuing you... I had a plan in helping out in my own way."

Gabriel blushed. "He... he planned all of this..?"

Ana nodded, confirming. "Talked about you every day. Jack sure does care for you, Gabriel."

Gabriel stared at them, soaking in the information he didn't realize. Jack did this all for him.

Even after Gabriel had left Overwatch to make its smaller branch, Blackwatch, Jack still cared about him.

Jack sacrificed himself for him. He did it just to get Gabriel out of the torture he was in.

But... why? He wondered. Why would anyone care about someone like me...

Gabriel's eyes stung of guilt. "This... all of this. Is my fault..." Gabriel said, with his eyes looking glassy.

Ana cocked her head up. "That's simply not true at all Gabriel and you know it's not. What happened was not your fault."

"What has happened to me. What did she do to me? Why am I even still alive?! IT SHOULD BE ME INSTEAD OF JACK!" Gabriel shouted, overwhelmed with emotions he could not longer control.

The tears he held back began to stream down his face, and he looked away quickly, embarrassed.

They both quickly came to Gabriel, and embraced him.

His eyes widened, he was about to push them away - but he felt something different about himself. Something he hadn't felt in a lifetime. The ability to show compassion.

He was made to hate. To be cruel. To not want anyone close. She had made him that way.

Moira fueled his anger and hatred for so long, that he forgot how to feel.

She constantly found new ways to infuriate him even further to fuel his relentless power. Its how she made him what he was.

But he felt better. He no longer felt as if he constantly needed something to keep him going. He felt alive.

And suddenly, Gabriel knew how to feel human again.
