Rustling through the forest, Jack was making his way to Talon. He was a bit anxious but he wasn't scared.Of all of the times Gabriel was there for Jack, he was going be the one there for him. Jack didn't fully understand his feelings towards him, but deep down he knew that he had strong feelings for him and nobody else.
He was taking a different way from last time. So he would be less predictable, and could catch Gabriel off-guard.
He wasn't sure how he was going to get him to come back with him, but if he had to, he would drag him back.
He sighed as he thought about Ana and Angela. He truly appreciated their kind offer to help him but he didn't want to endanger anyone but himself.
It surprised him, actually, that they did offer. He wasn't planning on saying anything at all, and was going to leave without a word.
But Jack felt that they would one hundred percent come and try to find him, like Ana did last time, if he just left.
Jack was upset about how vulnerable he was towards Ana. He didn't ever want to show any vulnerable emotions to anyone. He thought it made him weak.
But in another way, it gave him comfort, talking to someone about how he felt. Especially someone he trusted and knew wouldn't judge him, like Ana. 'Just like Gabriel..' he thought.
He looked down at his map device to make sure he was on the right track, navigating his way through the dark and cold forest.
The cold wind was howling and Jack just wanted Gabriel. He wanted to get him out of that hellhole.
He knew by the way his face looked and how different his voice sounded, he was in agony.
As he was almost through the forest, he stopped. He thought he heard someone behind him. He spun around and saw nothing. He was hesitant that nobody was there.
He turned his visor on and a low buzzing sound came from it. He looked around some more. He saw nothing.
He turned it off since it was so bright and noticeable, and continued on his way, taking careful steps.
Suddenly, something grabbed Jack, very hard. Jack spun around, knocking the hand off of him. He couldn't tell who or what it was since it was so dark.
Whatever it was lunged towards him as Jack stepped back. Jack dodged out of the way swiftly and kicked whatever was trying to get him. There was a loud, furious, growling noise.
Jacks eyes widened. He knew that growl. He knew the frustration in that voice. Jack paused, terrified as he had hurt the one he was trying to save. He crouched down to him.
He saw Gabriels face, as slight moonlight lit on his face, creeping through the leaves of the tree they were below.
"God, Gabriel, what are you doing out here..? You scared the hell out of me. Are you okay..?" He said softly, reaching his hand out to help him up.
Suddenly, Gabriels face changed to pure anger. He looked different. Something was different. His eyes pure red and his teeth were sharp.
Gabriel slapped his hand away and grabbed Jack and threw him on the ground. Jack winced in pain.
"Weak." He said. Jack laid there, in pain, giving it his all to get back up. As he was trying to get up, Gabriel pounced at him, and punched his jaw.
Jack let out another sound of pain, he wanted to fight back but he couldn't force himself to. He was going to get slaughtered if he didn't get up and fight back. But he couldn't. He knew Gabriel was already in pain, probably worse than this.
Jack laid there, his head spinning. Gabriel got up close to Jacks ear, and Jack could feel his breath on his neck.
"Im. Not. Done." Jack stopped and stared at him, with his mouth open. Gabriel started to put Jack im a chokehold using his arm.
Jack shoved Gabriel off of him. "WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU GABRIEL?! ITS ME! JACK!" He shouted.
Gabriel stopped at hearing that name and stared at Jack. His eyes softened and his lips began to tremble.
"Jack..." he winced. Gabriel had his hands clenched to his side, as if he was fighting something within. He growled in pain.
"JACK, GO!" He yelled at him. Jack ran towards him and embraced him. "IM NOT LEAVING YOU AGAIN GABRIEL." He held him tightly. Gabriel began to shake, he was crying.
Gabriel held him back, trembling. Jack laid his head on Gabriels shoulder. "Im here for you, Gabe. I always will be no matter what."
Gabriel sniffled. "Jack please... you can't be here.. I'm not myself.. I-I don't want to hurt you.." he said, shakily.
Jack rubbed Gabriels back, gently and held him tightly. "Im not scared of you, everything's gonna be alright, okay?"
Gabriel pulled back, and touched Jacks face gently. Jacks face heated up.
"Jack... I.. I..." he said, blushing and staring into Jacks eyes. There faces just inches apart.
Suddenly Gabriels eyes changed. His entire expression did. It was as if someone took control of him.
He snarled and lunged at Jack, thirsty for blood. He pulled one of his shotguns out. Jacks heart stopped.
"Gabriel, please, wake up!" He cried out to him. There was nothing. Gabriel put the shotgun next to Jacks head.
Just as he was about to shoot, Gabriel fell over on top of Jack, and the gun fell out of his hands.
Jack froze, confused, and stared at Gabriel. His eyes were closed and he let out a quiet snoring sound as if he was sleeping.
He got up, slowly, trying to get Gabriel off of him gently, and knelt on the ground next to him. He felt his pulse, it was slow, but he was still breathing.
Jack heard rustling up in a tree way in front of him and saw someone in it.
"I told you I was coming." Ana said, up in a tree with her sniper rifle and sleeping dart gun.
