Chapter 12 - cricket

ZEE'S POV

The first game was cricket.

As I expected.

I'm not that good at cricket.

But I do play well.

Soon our team started discussing where everyone will stand and how we are going to do it.

It was us against that lambu khambu sir's team.

And the principal's team against that commerce sir's team.

As we finished planning.

For deciding who's going to bat first we had to do a toss.

Both the sirs standing in front of each other.

The umpire tossing the coin.

And tailsssssss.

We chose tails and they chose heads.

"So we are taking batting first?" Sir asks.

And everyone in our group agrees.

"Wth no are y'all crazy let them bat first," I say.

Cuz if they bat first then we'll get a score to beat.

And I think this is more wise.

But our team is dumb and so is our captain so we chose batting.

I sigh as two people from our team go and stand near the pitch.

As we all get seated.

The batting continued.

Until it was just me and sir whose turns were left.

Soon the other players got out too.

Looks like fate really isn't on our side.

But it's just one game I'll definitely slay in others.

I thought to myself and I feel someone waving a bat in front of me.

"Zee?" Sir says as I snap out of it.

"Yes?" I say.

"It's our turn now." He says as I nod.

I quickly got myself ready.

I was a bit nervous but I kept reassuring myself it's going to be fine.

Soon I felt a hand on my back.

And I look onto my side to see sir standing there.

He slowly caresses my back.

And mouths it's going to be fine.

And then he smiles.

If possible I would've fainted here.

But soon I snapped out of it.

We both walked towards the pitch.

Sir was going to do the batting.

I smiled at him and wished him all the best.

He nods and gets ready for his batting.

And let me tell you how he was surprising me with his shots.

6s and 4s all the time.

I wondered if I would be able to do it.

Soon I was doing the batting.

I did do well.

And we scored well too.

Our team was finally out.
