Chapter 19 - cooking

ZEE'S POV

We soon heard a knock on my door again.

We both panicked thinking who was at the door.

"Oh shit, oh my god oh my god run run hide hide idk," I said and he just stared at me.

"Where tho?" He asked.

I was so panicked I couldn't think straight.

"Anywhere yaar anywhere," I said he quickly went to the cupboard again.

I just took a deep breath and acted like I was sleepy the door kept banging.

I waited for him to go and hide.

I just stared at him going into the cupboard and struggling.

Soon I went towards the door.

I again took a deep breath and opened the door closing my eyes a bit showing that I was sleeping.

"Mum?" I said while rubbing my eyes.

"Zee? What were u doing ?" She asked.

I acted confused and then.

"Idk? Sleeping?" I said.

"Oh, I'm sorry for disturbing u beta." She said and peeked into my room.

"Move a bit." She says and enters through my door into my room.

I just blankly stare at her while my heart was on a marathon.

There were a lot of things going on in my mind.

Like how would I defend myself?

What if she finds him?

What if, what if, and so many what ifs.

"You are sleeping while ur radio was still playing???" She asked.

"Yeah I mean uhh I slept while listening to it," I said.

She eyed me suspiciously.

"Anyways listen, ur aunty is in hospital I think me and ur brother will have to go to her." She says and I stay quiet.

"What happened?" I asked after a long pause.

"It's just her health condition but don't worry we'll manage, u sleep and eat on time okay?" She says and caresses my cheeks.

"Okay, mumma," I say and smile.

She smiled back.

"Oh btw, do u have that white scarf of mine I think I kept it in your closet." She said and moved towards my closet.

I quickly ran towards the cupboard and stood in front of it.

"Oh my god mummy I'll find it for u why don't u go and get freshen up," I say.

"No, it's fine zee let me do it." She says.

"No please I insist," I say and then she again eyes me suspiciously.

"Okay bring it down." She says and leaves the room giving a last glance.

"Phew" I sigh and lock the door.

I quickly run towards the cupboard and he comes out.

"What happened?" He asked.

"Mat pucho," I said and rubbed my head.

I started searching for the scarf.

I quickly found the scarf and I went downstairs to give it to my mom.
