Weiying walked into his dark apartment and flicked on the light. he let out a breath before he moved slowly towards his bedroom, pulling his suitcase along behind his. he left it at the foot of the bed before he went out into the kitchen and pulled a bottle of wine from the fridge. Weiying poured a glass before he returned to the living room.
He had stopped at the manager’s office and picked up the thirty day notice form. He wanted to get it filled out so he could drop it off in the morning before he went to work.
It felt strange. All of this felt strange. With each passing day, the reality of what he and Lanzhan were doing sunk in more and more, and his emotions were a maelstrom of uncertainty, anxiety, and incredulity. he couldn’t believe they were actually doing this. He was actually moving in with him, and they were actually getting married.
As he filled out the form, Weiying felt a sense of...loss. This was his apartment, the first one he had moved into after college. It had been his safe haven, his place to unwind and relax. He had memories hise. And he was walking away from it.
But he would be lying to himself if he said he wasn’t almost...excited...for this adventure he and Lanzhan were embarking on. It was crazy, but that was the truth.
Getting to know Lanzhan over the last few weeks had been strange and exciting all at once. Weiying had always walked the straight and narrow, but this...was thrilling. They were breaking the law, and so far it seemed like they would get away with it. He got the promotion he had been wanting. And really, Lanzhan wasn’t that bad of a guy. He was someone he could live with, at any rate.
Which was a good thing...considering he would be living with him for the next five years.

Lanzhan was in his office working on paperwork the next morning. He hadn’t realized how much work he had let build up while dealing with all of the engagement and immigration business until he had come into work and seen the stack of folders on his desk, which Chang Ping had left for him. It would probably take him two days to get caught up.
