A/N: apparently wattpad doesn't like long ass chapter names, so this is what i'm having to do...

Scott held the door open, allowing Theo to get past.

"So, what did you want to talk about?"

Theo had about 100 questions he needed to know the answer to, but settled for the main one.

"What happened to Liam?" okay so maybe not the one he wanted to initially ask first but it's what came out.

Scott's attitude suddenly changed, he seemed guilty, almost as if he'd been the one to put Liam in that hospital bed.

"We were out on a mission, I was cornered so Liam and Hikari came to save me, but Hikari got hit so Liam rushed to get her and.."

He could sense where this was going but he still needed to know.

"Scott?"

He looked up at Theo, all teary eyed, "y-yeah?" his voice was all strained.

Scott blamed himself.

"What hit him?"

"An arrow...it-it contained yellow wolfsbane"

In all his years of training, Theo had only ever known one person that used yellow wolfsbane, but that person was dead and the only person working aside him wasn't which meant "Monroe?"

Theo was left speechless. 

What did Monroe want with them, it had been years since the war.

Theo could hear what sounded like muffled sniffles, "Scott?" Scott reluctantly answered, "Yes?"

"Why did you call me? After all these years, why only now did you get in contact with me? Is it because you don't think Liam will wake up?" there was no aggression behind his voice, just confusion and sadness.

"Theo."

Scott's tone indicated everything he needed to know. Nothing but his name and yet, it was everything.

That understanding they had.

It was still there.

Scott knew.

He was dumbfounded by Scott's overall calmness, as if he hadn't been crying a few moments earlier.

Theo initiated the conversation after minutes of silence, "We should get going, they're probably wondering where you are."

They both just exited awkwardly, instead of carrying on the conversation.

Before he had time to reminisce, the elevator doors opened once again, he could see Liam's pack all engaged in a deep conversation.

Their faces painted with concern, nobody knew whether Liam would wake up or not.

Theo really needed Liam to wake up, this couldn't be his last memory of him.
