A/N: here's the second half :)
(and the last one, before i decide to update... which i'm terrible at.)
Theo stood by idly in the doorway of the kitchen, watching as everyone took their slices of pizza as he waited patiently for his turn. He grabbed three slices of pepperoni pizza before making his way back to the pack.
Entering the room, he'd noticed that there had seemed to be less seats than earlier.
Had the room always been this full?
"Are you gonna sit down?" Scott asked.
"Sure," he answered.
Hikari was still sitting across the other side of the room, accompanied by Malia. Whilst Liam was sat right in front of him, an empty seat next to him.
Beacon Hills sure was pushing his patience as usual, but what other option did he have?
There was an empty chair available, only it was next to Stiles and as much as the mans remarks towards him didn't affect him, he'd much rather feel the wrath of a beta. At least it was less of a headache.
Theo's only actual issue being with the fact that he was currently being ignored.
Normally whenever Liam would get angry or upset, his emotions would be uncontainable and maybe it was because he was older now.
Maybe it was because he was more in control than he was as a teenager, but Theo could still hear his heart beating and fast, so he knew that Liam at least cared enough to get all worked up.
Emotions were better than none because no emotions means no feelings, that they don't care enough to waste your energy on you.
Even though he acts all mysterious and whatnot, being mysterious sucks because in reality it just means that he's always up inside of his own head, rethinking every situation as it played out, such as this.
Minutes had flown by and the other man still hadn't even spared him a single glance.
What the hell was his issue?
As much as he was also to blame, it wasn't as if he'd been the one to initiate anything between them.
It wasn't as if he'd made the first move, or the second or the third, or even the fourth and caused him to loose his girlfriend. That wasn't his fault and that much he knew for certain.
How had he gone from being all over him to wanting nothing to do with him in a matter of hours?
"I need all of you to listen up as this is very important," Scott ordered, raising his voice to make sure they could hear.
Only Theo's thoughts drowned out the sound of the alpha's voice with all of its questions. Questions that desperately needed answers.
Did mean that Liam hated him now? Of course not, not when he could still hear the beta's heartbeat rising every time he looked in his direction.
Were him and Hikari over now? Just like that? They had to be, what with the different corners of the room and here whole speech at the hospital.
He'd only been back a short number of days, how could she of known? Had Liam talked about him whilst he was away?
The most important question was left.
What about them? If there even was a them.
He was a realist, he never jumped to conclusions without having all the facts.
Fact is Liam kissed him, fact is Liam knew he had a girlfriend when he did so and the final fact was Liam was the one begging him to not to make him choose.
So what did it mean?
Was this all just some sick twisted game or did he feel the same?
What did it mean when Liam had asked him not to make him choose?
"You two will take the hospital, since Liam knows it best," Scott ordered.
In that moment Theo was reminded of everything, from why he left to when he returned and it was like a wave of deja vu had crashed into him, flooding him with memories.
All those memories contained a certain blue eyed werewolf, the same blue eyes that were going to be the death of him.
"Is that alright with you?" Scott asked.
Liam had stood up to go and get some more pizza and with his eyes so focused on the man, it took him a while to realise that Scott was even talking.
"Uh- yeah- okay," Theo stuttered, his view focused on the kitchen. Theo made the quick decision of talking to Liam now, because otherwise he'd probably never get it.
"I'm actually gonna go and get some more pizza too," he announced, the rest of the pack continued to talk.
He could definitely feel the shift in the atmosphere as he entered the kitchen, the space felt rather tighter than usual, like there was nowhere else to run. If he needed to do so.
Why was so much harder than it needed to be?
"Are you going to spit it out or are you going to keep following me around like a lost puppy?" Liam asked, finally snapping from all of the tension.
"No need for the attitude, pup. I was just trying to ask you what happened between you and Hikari? You know... since you weren't all over each other for once," he teased, only Liam wasn't having it.
"Don't act like you don't know," the beta sighed, picking up a slice of pizza and placing it on his plate, not even acknowledging the nickname.
"I'm sorry. I never meant for anything like this to happen," he apologised.
When had things gotten so complicated?
"Wow."
"What?"
"I don't think I've heard you say sorry before."
"Oh. Well I mean it."
"Don't. It was mostly my fault anyways," Liam admitted, his face still focused on his plate as he refused to look at the chimera.
"But yo-"
"Please just let it go. It's not important anymore," the other man begged. "She's gone. We're over and you're leaving soon, so it really doesn't matter anymore."
"Liam. Liam, you know that you're not to blame, right? Also you know that I'm not-"
"Just drop it, Theo!" Liam shouted, cutting him off from what he wanted to say, from what he so desperately needed to say.
He needed Liam to know that he wasn't leaving again, at least not for a while, not until they were safe again, not until he was certain that Liam was safe.
He needed Liam to know that he could trust him again, like he once had, but he also knew that the chances of that happening again were slim.
Everything just seemed so complicated now a days.
"Is everything okay?" Scott asked, his voice coming from the living room.
"Yeah," Liam answered, gritting his teeth together. "Everything is just peachy."
"Li-"
"Theo, please stop it. It really doesn't matter anymore," the beta interrupted.
He watched as Liam walked away, leaving him standing alone in the kitchen, just like he had at the hospital.
A/N: this was originally going to take a much softer and fluff filled ending, but i decide against it because i feel like the story was already moving too fast... sorry.
also this was only like 1k in terms of the word count, but i feel like i said all that needed to be said.
please feel free to correct any of my mistakes in the comments below since as usual none of this is beta read:)
