A/N: i am so sorry for the delay.

i know that i posted 'the heart wants what it wants' only a week or so ago, but i've just been taking a short writing break, because even though i've been writing bits and pieces here and there, i've just been finding it very stressful as of lately.

hopefully this chapter will make up for not having any, but i'm not sure.

i still have to finish it and i don't wanna rush things.

it's a 'slow burn' for a reason.

(bonus: the length is mostly because of the notes, and the actual chapter itself is only 1.5k words long)

As Theo sat amongst the waves of painful silence, just listening to them crash after all of the joys of laughter had fallen one by one, he couldn't help from thinking.

Those laughter's that had slowly fallen into waves had represented those who had all left one by one, pair by pair.

Leaving pairs behind.

It had made him think, and not just about those who had since then left, but about how he ended up there in the first place.

What had caused him to of been sitting in the house of someone he'd killed when they were both only teenagers.

Lydia and Stiles were the first to go.

The banshee claiming that she other than having very important tasks that needed completing for work that she also wasn't one to overstay her welcome.

Of course, everybody knew that couldn't be further from the truth since there was no "overstaying her welcome".

Not when both Scott and Melissa loved her with all their being.

Stiles had followed her blinding because that's just who he is.

He would follow her to the ends of the earth if she asked him to, sacrifice himself even.

Stiles had given everything he had to the banshee, and at times it had made him rather jealous.

Theo had nobody to be loyal to, nobody that he felt that way about.

Not really.

He watched ad they'd said their goodbyes and the time was rather early when they'd made their departure.

However, when it came for Mason and Corey to return home the sun had already began to set.

Theo had been watching the entire meeting.

He was always watching.

One thing he'd noticed was that despite Hikari seeming rather uncomfortable the entire time, she had still waited until the two had left to leave.

Strange, Theo thought.

He'd forgotten that she'd even been there for quite some time because of just how quiet she'd been, her heartbeat being the only thing to remind him.

Although, he was pretty sure that they had only left due to a comment made by Mason.

The comment had pointed fingers at his and the beta's rather complicated situation.

Neither of them had appreciated it in the slightest, but had refused to say anything in order to not bring more attention to it.

Even when being forced to leave by his husband it seemed that the human still had more remarks up his sleeve.

One which had referred to them as a show, as if they were animals in a zoo.

"No- Cor- I don't wanna go. I'd rather stay for the show- Cor-"
