Eddie Munson and y/n had been friends since they were kids. Now in, their senior of high school, they were both members of the Hellfire Club; a group of students who shared a love for tabletop gaming specifically Dungeons and Dragons. They spent many hours together fighting imaginary beats solving puzzles and exploring mysterious worlds until the day they faced their final adventure.
The setting was a deserted island surrounded by treacherous waters and inhabited by dangerous creatures. Eddie was the Dungeon master and the y/n played a powerful mage they were accompanied by three other players who each controlled a fearless warrior, a sly thief, or a cunning ranger.
The journey started smoothly but soon the part was faced with many challenges. They had to navigate through a dense jungle fight off a swarm of giant insects and cross a rickety bridge over a deep ravine at every turn Eddie added new twists and turns to keep them on their toes.
The party's effort paid off when they finally found the hidden temple that housed the source of their quest; a powerful artifact they were confronted by its fierce guardian, a dragon cursed to protect it until the end of time.
The battle was brutal and the party was pushed to the brink of defeat. But the reader with her vast arcane powers managed to deal the final blow vanquishing the dragon and claiming the artifact.
Eddie declared the mission complete and the party erupted in cheers. They had finally achieved what they had been working towards for months but it was bittersweet as they knew that it was their last adventure together soon they would be going their separate ways leaving behind the memories of their epic gaming nights.
As they packed their bags ready to leave the classroom that had housed their weekly meetings Eddie turned to the reader. "Do you remember the first time we played together?" he asked a hint of nostalgia in his tone.
y/n smiled "Of course I do. It was a disaster" she laughed.
Eddie grinned. "But we kept at it and now we're here. I'm gonna miss this."
y/n nodded feeling a lumping forming in her throat. "Me too."
They embraced and the rest of the party joined in forming a final epic group hug. As they left the classroom they knew that they would never forget the adventures they had shared. They were strangers no more united by their love for storytelling and gaming.
