Of course, on the next mission you had forced them to let you come. You had more information than they did and had a secret tool that would help you later.
You grabbed the box of cookies, learning yesterday that he didn't like cake, and walked with Gru in your yellow sundress. Hoping that Gru would comment on the color or how it fits you, but he kept on walking, focused on finding the serum.
Gru fell down the escalator, in the trash costume Lucy picked out after a man tried to put hot coffee in his costume, "Hey, Gru!"
"Oh, girls, what are you doing here?" He picked himself off of the floor.
"Well, we thought we'd come visit you at work." Margo said, standing in front of him with her sisters, "So, you're saving the world in a trashcan?"
He laughed sarcastically as you walked out of your shop, walking behind Lucy, "Hey, there you are, who's this?"
"Lucy, these are my girls, Margo, Edith, and Agnes. Girls, Lucy. Lucy, Girls." They all said 'hi', except for Agnes who stood there in awe.
You had bumped into the girls at the mall and handed them some cookies before Gru introduced Lucy. Something in Agnes changed, leading her to say, "Are you single?"
The three of you looked in shock as Gru panicked, "Hey- I have an idea, Lucy and I have lots of work to do, so why don't you girls go and explore the mall? Here is some money, go buy some useless mall junk. Some headbands and-"
"Are you gonna marry Lucy?" Agnes asked looking up at Gru.
"Are you out of your gourd? No, she just works with me." Gru responded, confused at the question.
"Plus you love her." Agnes jumped and smiled, "You love her, you love her, you love her. And you're gonna get married and I'm gonna be the flower girl."
You looked at Gru as he panicked, and that funny feeling came back. You blocked out the conversation as Margo and Edith stayed with you since you were the first adult they had trusted who had done everything for their well-being.
Lucy left a bad taste in Margo's mouth and knew right away how you felt about the situation. She had constantly told Gru to go on the dates he promised to and ask her out in return.
Edith didn't care who she was but wanted to stay with you since you were like her mother, you had adopted them and saved them a year earlier when Vector kidnapped them.
Edith couldn't tell how you felt, but Margo knew, "It'll be okay."
Margo's parentification came back when she picked up that you were upset, "I'm fine, honey bun." You kissed their foreheads, "I'll see you later today, Okay? We're introducing ourselves to the other shop owners."
Margo looked at you confused, "Why?"
You smiled, "Because it's hospitable, and shows that we care about the community here."
She nodded, "That makes sense, I'll take them around the mall, and we'll come back to the bakery for lunch."
-.-
You watched as Gru struggled with the door, seeing it slide open, "Welcome to Eagle Hair Club. It's about time you showed up, Mr. Gru."
"You know my name?" Gru walked forward, you trailed behind him.
He laughed, "When someone moves into the mall, who is follically challenged, I make it my business to know all about them. You are bald, and that is bad. Fortunately, I also make it my business to know when we have a gorgeous head of hair, like the lady hiding behind you."
