Hello, this is Day 3 of daily updates. I might be slightly busy in the next few days, although I will still try my best to update. Also, this chapter contains some things that might not appeal to some so here is a trigger warning list. Please be careful:
Suicide
Panic attacks
Self-degrading
Slight depression
If any of the above may trigger some reaction, PLEASE DO NOT read this chapter. For everyone else, please enjoy.
Gentle leaves swayed in a melodic dance, their rustling creating harmonies that echoed throughout the canopy of the surrounding trees. The sun, positioned just slightly askew towards the western horizon, painted a breathtaking scene, indicating that the afternoon was still in its youthful stage. As if nature itself were orchestrating a symphony, rays of golden sunlight delicately pierced through the interlacing branches, casting a warm and ethereal glow upon the face of a young adolescent. The gentle touch of sunlight embraced their features, illuminating the innocence and curiosity that danced within their eyes.Bathed in the radiant embrace of the golden light, Wei Wuxian's complexion took on a glow, as his sunkissed skin seemed radiant at the very moment. At this point, if anyone were to cast their gaze upon him, they would witness an ethereal sight.
The weariness that had once etched lines of hardship upon his face seemed to fade away, replaced by an air of youthful vibrancy and serenity. It was as if the pain he had endured, the trials that had changed his character, were momentarily masked, allowing the unadulterated essence of his personality to shine through.
To the casual observer, Wei Wuxian appeared as a mere nineteen-year-old, untouched by the harsh realities of life, an untouched piece of china, beautiful yet delicate and fragile. The scars of battles fought and sacrifices made were hidden, concealed beneath the facade of innocence and untainted optimism that radiated from his every pore. In this golden moment, one could glimpse the illusion that life, at its best, could be a place of endless possibilities for somebody like Wei Wuxian.
But as poetic and elegant as this might seem, it was, after all, only the mask of a man who had experienced terrors that should not even have braced itself up to the eye of human imagination let alone in real life.
Wei Wuxian cracked a silver eye open, his vision adjusting to the bright light. He winced as all the memories of the past day were remembered. His fingers jump to his shoulder where the whip should have hit him. However, there was no wound. His fingers met skin that hasn't yet been damaged.
Wei Wuxian wasn't thinking clearly. Millions of thoughts clashed in his mind at once. Some unknown entity was reviving him, Wei Wuxian. He, who wanted nothing more than the bittersweet feeling of eternal rest could not get exactly that.
