Mo Xuanyu was panicking. He truly was. After 23 attempts at drawing a successful array that brought back all the 'Wei Wuxians', he was truly beginning to think he was cursed with bad luck. The entire field he was on was stained red with blood. The number of times he had to redraw the array caused him to use up gallons upon gallons of blood. Luckily he was a deity capable of bending the fabrics of reality to a certain extent. If not for his abilities, he would be bleeding out on the ground.
Slamming his entire body onto the ground and bashing his fists into the earth, Mo Xuanyu was definitely not throwing a tantrum while being one of the most powerful beings to ever exist. He just couldn't get the array right!
"This could have been a lot easier if my superiors just gave me access to the stupid deity realm! My powers are extremely limited in the mortal plains. If I were in the Realm, I could have just brought back all the 'Wei Wuxians' and erased the memories of everyone who saw it happen. Life would just be so much simpler for everyone involved!" Mo Xuanyu cried, rolling around in the bloodstained grass, not unlike a three-year-old who couldn't get the candy they wanted.
After crying out his last complaint, Mo Xuanyu stood up again, revising his array for what felt like the millionth time.
"The entity which is involved with the affect of the array is drawn here," Mo Xuanyu ponders aloud, marking the spot with the ball of his foot. "So I have to put the infinite amount of 'Wei Wuxian's in this space as well as the infinite amount of people who saw Wei Wuxian disappear so I can erase their memories."
For this, Mo Xuanyu first drew the symbol '永' symbolising the infinite amount of 'Wei Wuxians' and onlookers that are going to be affected by this array. Secondly, Mo Xuanyu drew 3 '人' symbols which represented the humans that were going to be affected by this array. Mo Xuanyu then wrote down Wei Wuxian's birthdate next to one of the symbols, making one of the symbols represent Wei Wuxian himself. For the other human symbols, Mo Xuanyu chose to write down the symbol for sight, seeing as they witnessed Wei Wuxian's disappearance.
Mo Xuanyu marked another section of the array in his mind. "This is the effect section. I have to symbolise what I want the array to do. For this section, Mo Xuanyu chose to draw three '人' symbols again. Under one of those symbols, he drew out the symbol, '回' symbolising the wanting for Wei Wuxian to come back and 'reappear.' For the rest of the human symbols, he drew '忘', the symbol for 'forget.' This is because he wanted the onlookers to forget Wei Wuxian's disappearance.
Having finished half of the array, Mo Xuanyu went on to filling the other half, full of details such as when the effect shall take place and how. Mo Xuanyu was reduced to a shaky mess by the time he finished the last stroke.
"Please don't let this fail!" He repeated to himself, begging internally. Stepping out of the array, Mo Xuanyu infused a rich, golden portion of spiritual energy into his fingertips from his very weak core.
With shaky fingers, Mo Xuanyu reached out and activated the array. The blood began glowing a crimson red as streaks of energy (who knows what kind) flooded the air around him. A vibrant ball of infused energy was formed in the middle of the array, blinding Mo Xuanyu with its light.
Everything was going amazing! It was Mo Xuanyu's best attempt yet. However, before he could celebrate, the ball of energy vaporised into nothingness, leaving only burnt grass in its wake. Mo Xuanyu felt the adrenaline of victory vanish within milliseconds, the smile dropping instantly from his face.
Mo Xuanyu once again fell to the ground, rolling in the grass. Wailing in misery, Mo Xuanyu flailed around his limbs.
"I KNEW I SHOULD HAVE PAID MORE ATTENTION TO CLASSES WHEN I WAS ALIVE!!"
