Caught

I woke up the next morning to discover James was gone but in his place was a note. The note read " I went home. I'll see you later . By the way you look cute in those shorts . Its nice to know you love me ;)" . I laughed at how cheeky he was. I grabbed my phone to see that everyone was coming over at 1:00 with food. I looked at my clock to see it was almost eleven. I grabbed my phone and went downstairs. I ate a granola bar then did laundry. I went back up to my room to see a message. It was from James , it read " Elijah , Calum , Jess , Alexa , and I are all coming over an hour early . We'll be at your house in 10 minutes or so. " . " Okay you guys can just let yourself I'm going to take a shower. Don't sneak into my room to see me in my shorts. And its nice to know you love me. See you soon , love " I texted then put on my music and locked my bathroom door. I got in the shower and the song Post to Be by Omarion came on . A few minutes later I heard the front door open and Calum yell " Skyler's house sweet , Skyler's house". I got out of the shower and dried off my body. I put on the matching black Calvin Klein underwear shorts and bra. I walked into my room so I could get clothes. As I was grabbing a pair of shorts in busted Calum , Elijah , Alexa , and James. " James I told you to keep them downstairs ." I said aggrevated.
" What's the big deal , it looks like your practically wearing a swim suit. And we've all seen you in a swimsuit" Alexa said shrugging. " wait for it" I said. And in walked jess and she yelled "Damn what's going on. Not to be weird or anything but if I were a lesbian I'd totally fuck you". " That's why Alexa " I said pointing at jess and they all burst out laughing. I grabbed my clothes and walked into my bathroom planning on changing. But instead I saw Calum sitting on the counter holding my phone. I grabbed my phone from him and pushed him out the door. I quickly put on my clothes then did my hair and makeup. once I walked out I heard jess say "Holy Mother of Mary Cheese pie . Your look is on fleek" . I laughed and said " I'm going down to my recording studio I've got to record a new song" . they kept asking questions but I ignored. I went to the studio. I went on the studio's files and found the right song. I flipped a few switch's then went into the recording room. The song While You're Out Looking For sugar came on and I sang along.Once I was done I peeked through the door and said " Guys choose a few songs from the computer files then press forward then press start " . I went back over to the microphone while they were deciding. As soon as they played the first song I froze. They had chosen Livewire , it was Matthew and I's song. But I erased Matthew from my mind and began to sing. The next song was Always Be My Baby. I turned to see James at the computer. I knew he had played this song because of last night. As I began to sing I kept James on my mind . And as I sang the last few notes I knew I truly cared for James as more than a friend. The next song was How to be a heart breaker. In the Middle of the song I saw all of my other friends come down with various bags of food. The next song was Girl on Fire which I love. I held the note on the word fire and everyone clapped. And then lastly I sang Cough Syrup . I put up everything and we all went upstairs. We all got food and began to eat. While we were in the middle of a spongebob episode there was a knock on the front door. "I'll get it" I said getting up leaving the room. I opened the door but there wasn't anyone there so I stepped outside. Suddenly a hand wrapped around my my mouth and I was grabbed. I tried to kick and scream but it was no use. I had been dragged into an alley . My kidknapper put a scarf over my mouth and tied my hands . I tried screaming again but it just came out muffled and hushed. Then the person took off their mask , It was Matthew . I could smell a deep reeking of alcohol in his breath. He began to talk but I kicked him over and over and over again hoping he would leave. But I was terribly wrong he began to beat me like Reese had but this time I didn't gurgle blood . Once he stopped beating me he had realized what he had done and guilt filled his eyes. He then ran , he just left me weak and helpless in an alley in down town. I laid there tied up bleeding and crying for several hours. Until I heard James voice yell " Skyler" his voice sounded strained. I felt my eyelids grow heavy . I tried to keep my eyes open but instead I began to cry harder. I heard James keep calling and I tried to crawl to him but I kept collapsing. But I loved James and I would do anything to be in his arms. I was soon next to a garbage can. Then I got an idea . I laid against the wall and began to kick the trashcan . I felt like the scarf was suffocating me. I was traumatized from the past events. I squeezed my eyes shut trying to stop the crying but I saw flash backs of Matthew. I laid there crying , bleeding , suffocating , traumatized , feeling so lost. Suddenly I saw James tear stained face with red blood shot eyes. He untied my hands and took the scarf off my mouth. I knew he was talking while he picked me up bridal style. He held me tight and ran . I was in my dark cold place though. I was in so deep that I wanted to be trapped there. I felt like Matthew had taken something from me that I would never get back. I didn't realize what was happening till I heard yelling and crying.I used all of my strength and opened my eyes , but one of my eyes couldn't so I only had one eye opened.I saw that I was in my living room. I rolled over trying to get comfortable but instead I fell off the couch. Slowly the house fell to a deep painful silence. I sat up against the couch and hugged my knees to my chest. I stared off into my dark world. Slow tears ran down my cheeks. " I thought he loved me . I was so careful about grenades. And then he went off on me. And then I let him hit me and get away with it. He got drunk and dragged me to the alley and I'm so weak I didn't do anything. He took away my safety. He beat me while intoxicated. He beat me like I was nothing. But I guess to him I really was nothing. He never loved me , I was just his game. He left me in a Alley to hurt " . I said aloud as more tears fell down my cheeks. " I'm never good enough for anyone. He said he would fix me , they all do. But I always end up more broken and worthless than before. And maybe I never even had any worth. " I said louder lost in my world. My eyes came back to reality . I was surrounded by my friends. " James , I need you to take me to the police station " I said. He picked me up and headed to the door. My eyes drifted off into my thoughts , I felt so cold and weak.I finally came back to reality when James and I were at the police station. He helped me inside and a police officer instantly came up to me. He led us to little room and let James stay. I told the police officer about when Matthew first hit me and what happened today. I was very emotional and weak but the officer was calm and I had James by my side. Once we were done talking I gave the officer my information so that they could contact me if needed. As James and I walked out I sat on a bench . James sat down next to me . I put my head on his shoulder and we sat like that. " You know that I love you Skyler " James said looking into my eyes. He gave me a look so deep and genuine I couldn't doubt him but I couldn't read him. " How much though " I said turning my body to face him. He looked at me then put his hand behind my neck. I looked into his eyes and I was walking in love. And then James kissed me and I kissed back. As corny as it sounds For one second everything melted away and I felt like all I'd ever known was how much I loved James. I didn't care about Matthew anymore , I didn't need his love . I was depending on his love and strength before. But I was going to have to move on from that. I smiled at James and said " I love you so much" then hugged him. He held me tight in his arms and whispered " Will you give me a chance" . " What do you mean?" I said confused. " I mean will you Skyler Donnell go on a date with me. And will you give me a chance to be with you like I've wanted for so long. I know you haven't had much luck with love. And I can't promise a perfect relationship . But I can promise you that I will protect you . I promise to respect you like you should. And love you like your the only thing I've ever known. And I'm not perfect I'm indecisive , weird , easily confused , and I forget things a lot. But I have always known that I wanted to be with you . and you don't have to say yes. If you don't love me like I thought me like I thought you did. And I'm sorry if this is confusing. But I'm not going to apologize for lovong you Skyler. " he said looking me in the eyes. Not even Matthew or Issac had looked me in the eyes and noticed me like James had in those few minutes. And for once in my life I wanted for time to stop so I could just stare at him and listen. I put my hands on the back of his neck and smiled while he looked at me nervously waiting for an answer . I pulled him close and kissed him. I slightly parted from him and whispered " Yes James. I love you so much. Just please stay" . I kissed him again and I knew he was smiling into the kiss. So there we were on a bench outside a police station in love. And suddenly I heard " Oh my god guys get over here their kissing . It's about time I've been waiting for you guys to start dating for like forever". It was jess and the crew. James and I parted and I instantly heard yells and whistle's. James grabbed my hand and I intertwined our fingers and we stood up. As we were walking over to everyone I could feel James staring at me. " Hurry up lovebirds and James stop staring at Skyler. I've got big news" Alexa said. They all turned around and started walking to the cars. I ran and jumped on Calum's back and yelled " Run peasant I comand you". He grabbed my legs and ran around the parking lot while I laughed. He finally put me down but I was really dizzy. I walked to the car but I probably looked drunk. I got to the car and got in the passenger seat. James began to drive while I hummed along with the radio. We drove listening to the radio . My eyes soon grew heavy and I fell asleep in the car.
