"Babe" I whined while Matt bear hugged me. He loosened up his grip and I snuggled into his chest. I pulled the sheets up to my chin tiredly. "Ahhh Spider" jess screamed. I climbed out of bed and picked up a shoe. I smacked the tiny Spider she was scared of. "Now was that hard" I said and climbed back into the bed next to Matthew. Jess blushed a bright red. "I think it's kind of cute that she's scared of such a tiny spider" Elijah shrugged. I rolled my eyes tiredly. "Yeah well I don't" I said rubbing my eyes. "Sorry about that" she said awkwardly. I pulled out my phone and opened my phone scrolling through. The song Ain't No Other Man boomed from my phone. Everyone looked at me but since I've known jess since fourth grade she smiled. "You know what that means" she yelled loudly. "Hello" I said answering the phone. "Skyler, Baby. How are you feeling I heard about what happened" My friend Louis said. By the way Louis is gay I know him from foster care and we kept in touch. "I'm great Louis, how are you" I said smiling. "I'm so glad you asked, I'm absolutely fantastic" he said. I noticed Matt looking at my phone with a nervous jealous look on his face. 'He's gay' I mouthed to Matthew. Matt blushed and looked away. "So how's Butter" I asked. "Butter is just like always. Tiny with an attitude but you know gotta love him" he said referring to his dog. "Oh Butter" I laughed. "You know I need to get you a kitten. Remember that black and brown and white kitten we saw when we got Butter. You loved that kitten to death" he said. "Then get down here and we'll get me a kitten" I said. "Well I'm outside your hospital room and this suitcase is really heavy" he said what. "Your sixth floor, room 204. Right" he said. I squealed dropping my phone and jumping off the bed. I ran outside the hospital room and hugged him tightly. "So I see your talking" he smiled. "Yeah well my voice is really hot now since Reese jacked up a vocal cord. And you can thank my boyfriend for getting me to talk. Louis grabbed my hand and dragged me into the hospital room. "Where's the boyfriend" Louis called. Matthew sat up and raised his hand tiredly. Jess jumped out her seat and hugged Louis really tight. "What's his name, how old is he,does he have a criminal record! Oh my god, Skyler what if he's a serial killer, we don't know" Louis burst dramatically. "Louis he isn't a serial killer" I laughed. "Yeah right we don't know. No one suspects a serial killer to be a serial killer" Louis said. Louis eyed Matthew suspiciously. "I'm not a serial killer" Matt said honestly. "Good he talks, for a moment I was worried" Louis laughed. I rolled my eyes playfully at him. The door opened and in walked my doctor and mother. "Louis" my mother said cheerfully and hugged him. "Okay Skyler you can leave but we need to give you some shots first" my doctor said. "No! No! No! No! No! No needles" I yelled hiding behind Elijah's chair. I peeked over the top to see Matthew, Jess, Elijah, and Louis laughing. "Honey come on it's just a few shots" my mom said. "Yeah just a few times someone can stab me with a needle and put poison in my blood. No thanks! I'd rather never leave this hospital!" I called out. "Skyler the doctors not going to stab you" my mother said. "Mom for all we know she's a serial killer. She could poison me and cut off all my limbs. And chop up my skin and sew it together. Then wear my skin as pajamas and feed my body to the cannibals from king kong. But we don't know and I really don't feel like dying today" I said. "I'll asure you I'm not going to do so" the doctor said her eye was twitching. "Your eye is twitching, Your lying to me. You know God will be very sad if I die" I said hiding behind the chair. In walked in the rest of my friends. "Honey the doctor isn't a serial killer. She's not going to poison you and kill you. She won't wear your skin as pajamas and feed you to the cannibals from King Kong. She especially won't stab you with needles. It's just a few shots hun" my mom said. "LIES!" I yelled and my friends held in their laughs. "Matthew, boys, let's help a mother out" Jess said. I knew exactly what she was thinking. "Nooooooooo stop she's going to kill me" I called out. Matthew picked me up and I kicked and pounded my fists on his back. "Matthew, put me down" I said annoyed. He sat me down on the bed and Jess and Louis kept me in place. "I hate all of you" I said while the doctor prepared the needles. The doctor held the first needle and nodded at me. I squeezed my eyes shut and she stuck the needle in my arm. I instantly felt a deep aching pain. "Lord give me the strength not to beat the shit out of this doctor" I said. Matthew laughed and the doctor stuck in another needle. I whimpered clenching my jaw and fists. She did four more shots consisting of my cursing and whines and whimpers. My arms ached and stung. "Gahhhhhh" I said laying down on my back. "What is it" Matthew and Louis said at the same time. I was feeling a little dizzy but I knew that was from the morphine the doctor injected me with. "My arms are jello, just don't eat them" I said. "Are you okay there fruit loops" jess said smiling. I started laughing hysterically "fruit loops" I said. I calmed down and looked at Matthew. "I shall call you squishy and you shall be my squishy" I said smiling. "This is what morphine does to women" Louis said. " Nemo didn't touch my butt he touched the boats butt, don't worry Dora it's all okay" I spoke feeling super loopy. Everyone burst out laughing and I stood up. I stumbled over to Jess and put my hands on her shoulders. "You okay" she said putting her hands on my shoulders. "I do like chocolate, little chicken" I spoke hugging her. "Okay mouse" she said. I let go and sat down on the floor. "Can we go get my kitten now Dora and squishy, please little chicken" I said. Elijah walked over and helped me up. I was feeling really loopy and dizzy. "Well hello there duck" I smiled. "Hi there mouse" he said setting me on the bed next to Matthew. I laid down looking at the ceiling smiling. But truthfully I wasn't happy, it was although those shots had done something. But I remembered, they hadn't given me my anxiety, and depression pills. I smiled at the ceiling sickly. I heard some people say goodbye and walk out. I sat up and looked at Matthew. "Let's get out of here" I said after sitting for thirty minutes. I got up and picked up my packed backpack. Matthew nodded and Elijah, Jess, Louis, Matthew, and I walked out. We got out to Jess' minivan, which she loves for some reason. We climbed in and buckled up. "Let's get Skyler her kitten!" Jess cheered. "Yay!" I said smiling truthfully. Jess drove and we sang along to the music. Some parts of my voice were raspy for my newly found voice. We soon arrived at petland. I cheered climbing out of the car. We got out and walked in while I was spazzing out. We walked to the animals adoption area. "Hi how can I help you" an older woman spoke smiling. "We're looking for a kitten for our friend here in celebration of getting out of the hospital" Elijah said. She came over and hugged me and said "what happened". "I got beat and was in a coma" I answered and she hugged me one more time. She led us to the cats area and told us all this stuff. I wasn't listening I looked up at the rescue animal sign and followed it. "Hi sweets how can I help you" a girl said to me. "I'm looking for a kitten specifically a rescue" I said. She walked me to the back showing me some. But one caught my eye. It was an extremely tiny kitten in a corner cage of the room. It was a black and brown and white tabby. I walked over to it and said "what about this one". The girl smiled brightly at me. "This one doesn't have a name yet. No one ever looks at her or wants her" the girl said taking her out of her cage. She handed me the kitten and it was literally the size of my hand. "The kitten never likes anyone. She always shakes. We found her at a barn starving and with a sprained leg. She should've died but she didn't. She's three weeks old and should grow a bit all though she's the runt of the litter I'm honestly surprised she likes you. She doesn't like anyone, literally" the girl smiled. "I want her, how much is she" I said codling the small kitten. "Are you serious" the girl said wide eyed. "She's perfect" I smiled at the kitten. "Let's get her some things and then we'll discuss the price" the girl said. "Great" I smiled. We got then kitten food, toys, treats, a bed, litter box, the stuff that goes in the litter box, food and water bowls. And a small blanket that was baby blue that's meant for a kid. But she kept playing with it and she looked so cute I had to get it. We got to the register and got everything in three light bags. I wrapped the kitten up in it's blanket and it purred. The older lady from earlier came up alone. She talked to the girl and they nodded. "That'll be fifty dollars" the girl said. "For just the kitten. I can pay more" I said. "No just fifty dollars for everything. We never thought we would get this sweetheart a home. So your truly a blessing. Now go have fun" the older lady said. "Thank you so much" I said I walked around to the entrance. I sat down on a bench holding the sleeping kitten in it's blanket. "Where have you been" Matthew said walking over with Elijah, Jess, and Louis. "I went to look at the rescue animals" I said. "And..." Louis dragged. I showed them the tiny sleeping kitten. They Awwed at me and the kitten. "What's it's name" Jess asked softly. I paused thinking and decided. "Blue" I said. "Blue Donnell. The cat needs a middle name girl" jess said. "Blue, Miracle Donnell" I smiled. "That's cute" Elijah said. They took the bags for me while I held Blue. We walked out to the car and climbed in. Blue yawned and I pet her small head softly. We drove to my house listening to music. Complete by G-Eazy came on and I sang along. I softly rocked blue while she slept. Blue was making these cute purring sounds when she's asleep so it was really cute. We pulled up to my house and I smiled. I climbed out of the car and walked up to the front door. I unlocked it and walked inside. I walked into the kitchen to see a note on the counter. I read it and frowned sadly. We all walked up stairs into my room. I pit blue on the bed and set up her things. She sat at the edge of the bed looking at me. I smiled at her and turned on my music. I played my calmer music playlist. Photograph by Ed Shereen played. I cleaned up my room and organized . I cleaned a corner of my room that had nothing in it. I put blue's things in that corner. I grabbed blue and held her next to my face. I took a picture of us with my poloroid camera. I pulled out the picture and shook it . I set down blue and put away my poloroid camera. I grabbed all of my printed pictures, poloroids, and fan made posters. I put them on my small wall next to my closet. The picture of blue and I was adorable. I was smiling at the camera while blue had her paw in her my hair and looked away from the camera. I smiled and put it up with my other pictures. I rearranged a few things. It was after all cold since it's January though. I put blankets and throw pillows on my bay window seat. I put some throw pillows and thick blankets in my bed. I made my room cozy and nice. For another few hours I cleaned, worked, played with blue, made YouTube videos, and posted on social media. The house smelled really good for some reason. Blue kept pawing at my hair while I laid down. "Skyler come down here please" Elijah called. I picked up blue with her blanket and walked downstairs. I walked into the kitchen and smiled. All of my favorite holiday food was made and in the kitchen. "You guys" I smiled. "Happy holidays" they said. Blue sneezed and I smiled. "Now let's get this party started" Jess yelled. We spent the whole night watching holiday movies and eating food.
