Austin
I looked around as soon as she parked the scooter, wala akong alam kung nasaan kami but all I saw was this store.
"Sir Austin? kape po muna tayo? hindi po kasi ako nakapag kape sa lodging kanina."
I followed her inside and saw her grab some cups, and made coffee. I looked around and there wasn't anyone right now and there was no tindera in sight.
"So, where do we pay?" I asked her and she giggled pointing at a sign.
"Honesty store po ito."
She said and I nodded as I accepted the cup of coffee from her, we grabbed a few cookies and paid the exact amount we bought. She took the lead and walked through this door and outside was a beach. We sat down and as we sipped our coffee I was hesitant if I should say something or just let this comfortable silence between us.
"Saan niyo po gustong pumunta?" she asked and I shrugged as I looked at her.
"Anywhere you like," I said and she smiled sweetly as she took another sip from her cup.
We weren't awkward with each other at all whilst sharing this time together, both of us were silent, just enjoying the waves, sitting next to each other. It was perfect.
On most scenes I've watched, hindi ba dapat yung lalaki ang nag d-drive? But in this case, I once again am riding behind her. I tried to offer but she said she wanted to be the one driving and I just followed her.
The view from the highway was amazing and I was enjoying it, the breeze felt quite nice. She stopped and as I got off I looked around and we were on a beach.
"Boulder beach po nila ito," she said taking the lead in going down the beach
"You seem to know a lot of places here in Batanes," I said walking after her, I heard her giggle and I stared at her confused. Was there something wrong with what I said?
"Nag tanong-tanong lang po ako sa mga tao sa paligid." I saw her hand out her hand and I stared at her "Hindi po ba kayo bababa diyan?"
I looked at myself and I was standing on top of this big boulder.
"Ah, I can do it myself." I wanted to look cool but unfortunately, I slipped while trying to get down. I felt her grab me and I smiled in embarrassment but she just chuckled.
"Dahan-dahan lang at baka ikaw ay mahulog,"
She said pulling me up with a teasing grin plastered on her face, I pulled her to me and I could tell she was surprised.
"Sayo?" I said and I saw her turn red. I thought I got her but she smirked and gapped the little space between us.
"Didn't you already fall first?" she said teasingly and winked at me, immediately turning her back on me.
I followed after her trying to calm my beating heart down. I don't know what it is but I just felt na something was different about her. Maybe she really hates me more because of what I said back on the plane?
We saw stacked stones around and we looked at each other understanding that we too should do that. We tried to balance stones and we laughed each time it would want to fall. Until we finally balance the stones perfectly.
"Ah! mag wish kaya tayo?" she suggested and I agreed with her.
Standing next to each other, we clasped both of our hands, closed our eyes, and did our wishes.
And I only wish for her to be happy, I don't really care if she doesn't feel the same as me, though it would hurt me, I just wish for her utmost happiness.
