*Ah-ah-ah-ah*

I was suddenly awaken by a weird, but beautiful call. I sat up and looked around, but only found a sleeping Sonic on his hammock.

I sigh and roll up my sleeping, put on my hiking boots, and go outside to change into my adventure clothes. Gale is hiding me by whizzing up a sand tornado to hide me.

One moment later, I'm in a light beige crop top tied at the front and jade green shorts. I pack Sonic his backpack, since he's still asleep. Well, for now, anyway...

I walk back into the shack and gently shake Sonic awake. "Sonic, we have to go," I say softly. "5 more minutes," he said, rolling onto his side. "Do you want to save our friends or not?" I ask. No response.

I walk to the other side of the hammock to see that Blue Boy has fallen asleep again. "That's it, no more Mr. Nice Guy," I say, rolling up my 'sleeves' impatiently. Gale landed on my shoulder and looked at Sonic disapprovingly. Then, I got an idea. "Hey, Gale..."

One minute later

I was standing outside the shack when I saw Sonic fling out the window. I tried to stifle my laugh, but I failed. "Rise and shine, sleepyhead," I wheeze out.

"Yeah, yeah, laugh it up," he said. I throw his backpack at him and glare at him. "You know, if you ever want to save your friends, I suggest waking up," I say, starting to walk away.

"How are we even supposed to get to this cave?" Sonic asked, catching up to me. "We don't even know how to get there."

"Last night, Gale whipped up a map of the forest, which is actually a jungle. It's bigger than I thought," I explain. Gale lifted me off the ground and waited for Sonic.

"No thanks. I'd rather stay on ground," he said. "Sonic, you can trust Gale. She's very gentle, except for when I'm upset. If you're scared, just admit it," I say. "I'm not scared," he said defensively.

"Then you should have no problem with flying," I say, offering my hand, which he hesitantly takes. I pull him up so he's right next to me.

Then, Gale zips up to just below the clouds, me cheering while Sonic stays quiet. "Sonic, you're okay. We won't let you fall," I say. "Watch this." I zoom up into the clouds.

Then, I come back down, directly under the clouds. I the use my lightning as vines to swing from cloud to cloud. I then return back to Gale. "See? No big deal," I say. "Still not trying it," Sonic says.

Time skip

*Ah-ah-ah-ah*

Just as we landed, I heard the voice again, but I just shrugged it off. "So, this is the jungle?" I ask. "I guess so," Sonic says. "Come on, let's find our friends," I say, entering the jungle with Gale and Sonic following behind.

"I feel some sort of connection to this jungle," I say, putting my hand on the trunk of a tall tree. I started walk further when I ran into 4 stones. I look at them in awe.

"What are these?" Sonic asked, catching up to me. "I believe they're the main elements; water, earth, fire, and ice," I say, pointing out each stone. Gale whistles and flies into the forest.

"Gale!" I call before running into the forest after her. "Lyria, wait!" I heard Sonic call, but I just kept on running until I lost sight of Gale. "Gale?" I call out again. Then, I heard running behind me.

"Lyria, you can't just go off running like that. You don't know what's in this forest," Sonic said, grabbing my shoulders. "Sonic, relax. Besides, I'll be just fi-" I was cut off by a big WHOOSH.

Next thing I knew, Sonic and I were surrounded by fire. I yelped and jumped into Sonic's arms. "Fire? Seriously?" he questioned, looking up at me. "Sorry, Sonic. It just caught me off guard," I say as Sonic put me down.

Our conversation was interrupted by two voices. "Ash, I told you not to go too far," said one with a British accent. "Sorry, Lake. You know I'm reckless," said the other. "Oh, and you scared this duo, Ash," Lake said, appearing out of the trees.

"I didn't mean to," Ash said, coming out from behind the same tree. Lake was made completely out of water and Ash was completely made of fire. "Wow! You guys are made entirely out of the elements!" I say, astonished.

"Cool right? By the way, sorry for startling you," Ash said. "It's alright! Anyways, are there more of you?" I ask excitedly. "As a matter of fact, they're here right now. Come on out, guys!" Lake called out.

Two more elemental figures appeared. One of the figures was completely made of ice and the other was made out of rock. "Hiya! I'm Rockcella, and this is Frosty," said the rock one. "Hi," Frosty said with her slightly soft voice.

"Hello," I say, waving kindly. "So, Ash is a dragon made out of fire, Lake is an axolotl made out of water, Rockcella is an echidna made of igneous rock and magma, and Frosty is an arctic wolf made of frost and snow?" Sonic asked.

I look at him shocked. "First of all, correct, and second of all, you sounded exactly like Tails," I say. Sonic slightly glared at me. "In a good way!" I add on quickly. His gaze softened and he nudged me with his arm playfully. "I was just playing," he said.

"Sonic, focus," I say, turning back to the elements, only to see only Lake there. "The others always leave me to handle tourists because I'm the oldest. I'm here to inform you that us elements will help you with your journey," Lake explained.

"Thank you, Lake," I say. "Anytime!" And then, she swished away into the forest like a snake. "Well, let's get going," Sonic said, nudging me again, but a little more gently. He started walking again.

"Sonic, we have to follow the trail Gale have us," I say, forcing a gust of wind to push Sonic in the right direction. "Oh, right," he said. I roll my eyes and start walking. 'He's so silly,' I thought.

Sonic's POV

Meeting the main elements back there was quite something. Lyria really hit it off with them. Speaking of Lyria, she's one of the most unique hedgehogs I've ever met.

Her splotchy quills, her ears, and her eyes are a light dull pink. She even has a yellow lightning mark on her right ear. She's quite the hedgehog.

I was so lost in my thoughts that I ran into a tree, falling onto my back. Lyria looked over and giggled. I felt my face heat up as I got up. 'Why is her giggle so cute?' I thought. "Hey, are you alright?" Lyria asked, her tone still giggly.

"Yeah," I answer, my face heating up again. "You sure? Your face is a bit red." Dang it. Why? "O-oh yeah. Just embarrassed after what just happened," I say, scratching the back of my head.

"Oh get over it. It's not like the whole town was here to see it," Lyria said, playfully punching me. 'Why does she have to be so cute?'
