|Lyria's POV|

As I opened my eyes, I can feel someone shaking me and a muffled voice. All I can see is a blurry blob of blue. Suddenly, my hearing and vision were cleared.

"Lyria!" I realized that it was Sonic and he was bringing me back into consciousness. "S-Sonic," I wheeze out. "Are you alright? You took quite the hit," he frantically bombarded me with questions. "Sonic, I'm f-fine. I just got the wind knocked out of me," I said, stumbling as I regained balance.

"C'mon, let's get out of here," Sonic said firmly, his arm wrapped around me protectively as we walked away from the scene. My ears dropped as I walked with him, upset about what happened.

"I'm sorry," I say. Sonic turned and looked at me with a shocked expression. "For what?" he asked, putting his hands on my shoulders. "For putting you in danger. The tornado could've killed you," I say, on the brink of tears.

"Lyria, nothing can kill me, unless you get a lucky shot," Sonic said, raising my chin. "It's going to be okay." I smile a bit and hug him. "Thank you, Sonniku," I say. "No problem, Lia," he says, hugging me back.

I pull away from the hug and bring out my map. "Our next stop, the Magic River," I say, starting to walk. "Lia, wait up!"

|Time skip to night|

I push aside a wall of vines. I stumble out and the next thing I knew, I was in front of a beautiful river. It was dark blue, flowing with glowing dark pink, purple, and light cyan streaks and stars that indicated that this river was magical.

"Whoa. Sonic, are you seeing this?" I ask in awe. "Yes," he replies. "It's beautiful," I say, stars forming in my eyes. "Kinda like you," he says. I blush from this and whip my head around. "What?" I say sheepishly.

"N-nothing," he said. "Okay..." I say, a bit suspicious. I look around my surroundings and spot a raft. "Look a raft. Let's use it to ride down this river," I say.

Once we got the raft on the water and boarded it, I realized something. I cannot stop thinking about how Sonic had danced and sang with me yesterday, how we were playing in the jungle, how he was so worried about me, and how he called me beautiful.

I can't stop thinking about him. What is this feeling? Love? I guess that might be it because over the last couple of days, I've been noticing he's been more attractive than he was the day before.

"Lyria, look!" Sonic said, breaking me out of my thoughts and pointing at the sky. "Shooting stars!" I say, a smile forming on my muzzle. We stood at the railing, looking up at the stars. I didn't even realize that Sonic was holding my hand.

"Hey, Lyria, I need to tell something," he said, turning to me. "Sure, Sonic. You can tell me anything," I say, turning to him and smiling at him warmly. "Okay, here it goes," he sighed with a red face.

Sonic took my hands into his. "Ever since I danced and sang with you yesterday, Lyria, I felt something, something I repelled until now," he said, looking deep into my rose-colored eyes.

"What was-" I was cut off by Sonic pressing his lips against mine. My muzzle turned red as he kissed me. I kissed him back, wrapping my arms around his neck.

After a minute or two, I pulled away, blushing. "The feeling was love, Sonic. And, I feel the same way, too," I confess. "Are you saying that..?" "Yes, Sonniku, I love you," I say. "I love you, too, Lia," Sonic said.

I pull him into another kiss, this one with a bit more passion. Sonic immediately kissed back, wrapping his arms around my waist as I wrapped my arms around his neck.

When we pull away, Sonic only says this: "Wow." I laugh at his response before resting my head on his shoulder.
