Working in a cafe?
Nah, was definitely not in my list.
How people were working here, really amazed me. Man! They are like Bolt. And me? well I somehow only managed to take three orders and serve two of them without showing up my talent of clumsiness, not to mention how glad I really was about that.
Currently, I was carrying a tray with four coffee mugs, hot and steaming, and two doughnuts. It was really not that hard now to carry it as I already served a bigger order than this just a while ago.
'I kicked in your butt Clumsy!'
'No place for you now.'
Saying these words out loud in my head was making me confident.
I noticed the table where a bunch of Middle aged ladies were sitting.
They were busy in talking among themselves, laughing and gossiping. Heading towards my destination, confidently I must add but what happened next I never saw this one coming.
'There is a huge difference between confidence and over confidence.!' My subconscious taunted me.
'Seriously? now too?'
''Oh dear god heavens!'' The words left my mouth as I noticed my emerald ruffled shirt stained coffee and few a dozen pairs of eyes were on me.
Good thing was that it was only my shirt that got stained and bad thing was that I was in the spotlight now, like in a very bad timing.
Elizabeth came rushing to me and decided to give me a hand. I got up from there and started taking the broken pieces of the coffee mugs. Everything went to normal but the embarrassment was still lingering on my face. I let my hairs fall past my cheeks just to make it not visible for others while we walked out of there to the back room of the cafe, which was only for staffs to use.
"-Beth!" Elizabeth called.
"I am so sorry ... I just slipped...I lost my bal-"
"Relax hon!" She said letting a short laugh out. " Its fine!"
"I am sorry ! " I apologized again. Can you blame, in my life I never did serving with a tray and I am one of those girls who prefers sneaker over heels yet not an athlete. Why? if you did not figure it out yet then its my special talent- clumsiness. I sighed.
"Its fine. Really." She assured me, squeezing my shoulders lightly. But I still felt miserable."Are you okay? you did not get hurt right?" She asked with full concern now and I replied with a nod. "Good. Now go and get it washed. Otherwise you might get a permanent stain over it. " She said pointing towards my shirt.
" But I don't have any other uniform of cafe other than this." She was right I might get one of those permanent stains on my shirt but I don't have any other shirt than this.
"Relax sweetheart! This kind of things always happen here. That's why your grandma put this little laundry system here." She said pointing at something behind me. I followed her gaze and my eyes landed upon three sets of washing machines.
