***Leo's P.O.V***
Running is the best part of my mornings, somehow it gives me time and space to think. It's 6:30 in the morning and Saturday. Day before was the worst day ever. We lost the match by one freaking penalty goal. I passed few blocks and ran past parks. Generally I get back by 6:30, but today I felt like running an extra mile.
But seeing it already past seven, I decided to go back. The old lady might get worried.
But wasn't she the one who decided to take this on her own?
After the day of accident, Jenny thought it would be best for me to stay with her rather than myself. I never understood the point behind this. Jenny is nice, she and my grandfather were best of friends and my dad was her like own child. So when my dad and me got into the accident and seeing me getting miserable she rather ordered me to stay with her. It was fine, but then the whole Jones family staying there kind of make me feel like I am loosing my place.
I don't belong to there, right. I am just being an extra burden on Jenny. She have a family to look after. But being the stubborn , she would never allow me to stay alone. I work in her cafe just so I have myself some self respect. She always insisted me to take money in return but, man! I have tons in my bank accounts. I just do the work for time pass. Seeing me work there, my best friend volunteered himself.
I went inside hall, with a sweet aroma tingling my nose. The whole apartment seemed to be filled in it. I went to the breakfast table. I was greeted by Jenny and Mrs. Jones as they seated their. I reached for the jug and poured myself a glass of water. I wondered where both the twins were, but pushed the thought as the same aroma again hit my nose. Richard is a great cook and the extra run in the morning made me more hungry than usual. Orange and cinnamon...I thought as I drank the water.
Mrs. Jones and Jenny seemed to be in some conversation about this and that stuff. And I was in my own world, waiting for Richard to come out fast with whatever he was making.
Dude!! I am hungry!
"Ladies and Gentleman, a special Saturday morning breakfast is ready...Made by none other, but your very own great Chef Beth!" Beth announced as she kept some series of pancakes and some curd type thing on the table with the help of Richard.
She cooks?
"You have no idea how this sweet smell was tingling my nose. I was craving for it from the last fifteen minutes." Jenny said, taking a pancake for herself on her plate.
"Good, cause you gonna love it, Richard was a big help. " She said, turning back and giving a smile to the old man.
"Whats the menu today?" Mrs. Jones asked, taking herself a pancake and pouring the curd thing over.
Will it be eatable? And that curd type thing?
I was in my own inner battle, when Beth looked at me.
"Morning Leo!" She said taking the empty seat by my side and passing me a plate full of pancake.
I hesitated a bit, but then thinking that it would be rude I took one. It couldn't hurt, right?
"Its, just simple cinnamon pancakes, and orange curd." She said as if she knew what I was thinking, taking herself a plate.
"Mmm...Beth dear...it's lovely.." Jenny said, as she took another gulp.
"Beth, got this cooking from her fa.." Suddenly the smile on Mrs. Jones face got vanished. But she quickly masked it.." Beth herself is a great cook."
