Grace rang the bell as the eight children walked down the stairs. They entered the dining room and stood behind their seats. Lilith ran down the steps quickly and jogged to her seat as she fixed her hair. Right on time, Reginald walked in and stood in his spot at the end of the table, across from him was Vanya. "Sit!" He demanded as they all listened and started to eat as each of them started doing their own thing.
Luther and Allison were googling eyes with each other, Diego carved something in the table, Klaus rolled a joint, Ben was reading a book, Landon and Vanya gave each other looks as they tried to make each other smile, Lilith playing around with her orb as Five looked around at everyone, mostly at Reginald.
It was silent as no one conversed, only thing that was heard was utensils and the record, until Five jammed his knife in the table making a thud, causing everyone to look at him.
"Number Five?"
"I have a question."
"Knowledge is an admirable goal, but you know the rules. No talking during meal times. You are interrupting Herr Carlson." Reginald said.
"I want to time travel."
"No."
"But I'm ready! I've been practicing my spacial jumps, just like you said!" Five continued as he spacial jumped next to Reginald' side. "See!"
"A spacial jump is trivial, when compared to the unknowns of time travel. One is like sliding along the ice, the other is akin to descending blindly into the depths of the freezing water and reappearing as an acorn." Reginald stated, taking a sip of his drink not looking at Five. Lilith took in the information as Five stood there angry and confused, "Well I don't get it." Five mumbled to Reginald.
"Number Nine! Do you understand?" Everyone's attention turned to Lilith as she took a sip of her drink, "Um, not fully." She mumbled, making Five a bit disappointed.
"Hence the reason you're not ready. One of the smartest people doesn't understand it yet." Reginald confirmed as Lilith just glared at him.
"I'm not afraid." Five retorted.
"Fear isn't the issue. The effects it might have on your body, even on your mind are far too unpredictable. Now, I forbid you to talk about this anymore." Reginald said finally looking at Five.
Five shook his head before turning to Lilith as they both gave each other a nod, Five turning to run as Lilith got up and ran after him.
"Number Five! Number Nine!" Reginald yelled out, as Landon acted quick and made vines to wrap around Lilith's ankles. She struggled a bit as she gave her brother an apologetic look before cutting his vines with her powers and ran after Five. Landon fell back on his chair, grabbing his arm as a cut appeared. "You two haven't been excused! Come back here!"
