The sounds of fierce fighting and roars of both anger and pain echoed through the Emerald Forest, and while the students were recovering the recently rescued student from the Deathstalker, the beast itself was preoccupied with another threat entirely. Ruby was facing it head on, using her smaller size to weave between attacks from the giant beast, slashing at it's carapace and generating sparks from the shearing.

Using her wings, she backflipped with a massive boost, easily evading a slam from the Grimm's Pincers before she zero'd in and grabbed the thin part of it's arm, biting deep into it with her sharp teeth. She ignored the loud cries of pain from the beast, and continued scratching away at it's arm, black dust spraying from it in droves.

Eventually, she felt the other claw grab tight around her body, the Deathstalker desperately trying to rip her away from it's arm. She dug in deeper, using her Wings and wrapping around the limb as she let go willingly.

Just as she planned, it tore her away at full force, and with her wings behind it's Pincer, they were torn clean through, and took the limb from it's body. The Deathstalker dropped her as it roared in pain, and she quickly flew backwards away from it, checking herself for wounds.

So far, a few slight scratches, and some of her scales were bent awkwardly...she'll fix that up later.

"Ruby!" She looked to Yang, who had her fists up and ready. "Want some help?"

Ruby huffed, turning her down as she faced the Deathstalker again, knowing Yang's help wouldn't be the best. The thing was already aiming at her with it's Stinger, something that she knew was dangerous.

Her engines fired up, and she dashed backwards with their assistance, getting it's tail stuck in the ground. She knew her claws weren't too effective on most of it's body, so she decided to try a different approach, one she was more than happy to do.

She looked to Weiss, pointing at it's Stinger. Weiss was confused for a second, but soon realized what she wanted, and got Ice dust prepared. "I'll freeze it then! Just do whatever you need!"

Ruby watched the Ice dust fire out with her Semblance, quickly spreading over the Stinger and it's tail, rooting it in place. Ruby let out her breath, her chest lighting up as she sucked in air...and kept sucking in more.

Everyone stared in awe at what she was doing, her chest lighting up brighter and brighter, visibly glowing as her wings took a similar color in their exhaust. Soon, the rushing of air ceased, and she hopped off the ground, fire shooting out with explosive force from her wings, moving her up into the air...fast.

The sheer speed she moved from the ground was enough to create a shockwave, flinching back her nearby sister, and sending loose dirt and gravel everywhere. They all looked to the skies, seeing the red blur that was Ruby flying higher and higher as a thunderous boom sound rolled over their ears.

"Wait..." Blake stared in awe, recognizing what she just witnessed. "She...she broke the Sound barrier..."

"She WHAT?!" Weiss looked to Blake, her jaw dropped at what she said. "But how?! Nothing alive could do that!"

"Well, I guess we found something that can..."

Ruby stopped ascending higher, and began orbiting around the area they were in, moving faster and faster as she went. Then, they saw her red figure blur again, as she went in a massive loop in the sky...then stopped.

"Wait..." Phyrra looked up to her, her eyes shrinking as she noticed why she stopped. "Everyone! Get down!"
