"YEOSANG!" Wooyoung cried, racing through the shattered glass to his best friend's unmoving form.
He fell to his knees, his hands shaking as he took in the massive puddle of blood around him. The stains on his clothes indicated the likelihood of him being alive was slim to none. But Wooyoung still held on, reaching up to hold his face in his hands.
"Sangie, talk to me," he whispered, tears pouring down his cheeks.
Amidst the chaos, Yeonjun jumped into action, spotting the syringe by the body of the young boy and grabbing it, racing back towards San. Jinyoung helped him, and together they injected it into his arm, praying there was still enough life in him to come back.
Jeongin stumbled over next to Wooyoung, looking down at his friend on the ground.
"He must have been through hell in here," Jeongin whispered, fighting back tears.
Wooyoung reached up with shaky hands towards Yeosang's neck, needing to find a pulse. He hadn't been able to at first, knowing the answer might not be what he wanted. But he needed to know.
But just as he did, Yeosang shifted slightly, letting out a low grumble.
Wooyoung jumped back but his eyes widened as he watched Yeosang open his eyes.
"SANGIE!!!" he shrieked, holding his head in his hands. "Someone!! Grab another syringe!! He's still breathing!"
"Don't do that, she already injected me."
Wooyoung turned to him in shock, Jeongin stepping closer.
"Who??"
"Kyungsoon."
The two turned to the body laying amongst the glass pieces, encircled by blood.
"Why would she do that!?" Jeongin snapped. "She didn't spare anyone else!!"
"She wasn't the one that released the zombies. He did."
Yeosang raised a shaky finger, pointing at the boy across from him.
The two were moved to silence as the shock fell over them. The little boy had started this? That meant...Kyungsoon really had changed.
"What...what happened?" Wooyoung said quietly, grabbing Yeosang's hand.
"I don't really know, I was only conscious at the end when the serum started kicking in. She must have tried to cure him but his injuries weren't healed. I guess I went a little hard on him," Yeosang said with a small chuckle, but his heart wasn't in it.
"You...you did that?" Wooyoung asked quietly, horrified at what he'd had to go through all alone.
"It was either kill or get killed, Woo. He was trying to kill Jongho. He said he'd destroyed all of the viable samples and that he was going to give me one chance to cure him but I couldn't just let everyone else suffer. Jongho would never forgive me. But Kyungsoon was acting all along. I guess, we always knew she was a good actress. She pretended to be controlled long enough to make sure there was no saving him. I guess she was still sentimental, since he's her brother and all. But once he tried to kill me, she stepped in. She ended up taking her own life."
Wooyoung nodded, trying to wrap his mind around the whole thing. Yeosang looked past them, trying to see who had gathered.
"Where's Seungmin and San? What about the others? Is everyone okay?"
Jeongin's eyes started to water but he cleared his throat, owing him an answer.
"Seungmin didn't make it. And San..."
