I tapped lazily at the keys on my keyboard, I'd been answering emails the last few hours and it was getting real boring. This was the worst part about working for a company like this, the office work.
Some days I'd get to go out and film ads and interviews and meetings, but today was one of those boring days where they made me sit in the office and be 'the face of the company' online.
Which included writing emails to important people, checking our socials, and joining a few online meetings as well.
Back when I first got the news that I would be promoted to the face of the company, I wasn't really sure why they wanted me to as I was still pretty new in business context.
My boss didn't really give me much of an explanation either, but the work was certainly more interesting than most of my coworkers', so I happily accepted the title.
Once I'd gotten into the groove of things, they officially announced me and I started doing a lot of promotion for our company.
They asked me to join them for almost every important meeting seeing as I was starting to become a familiar and trusted face in our business circle, and they even asked me for advice when trying to pick new models for our products.
"Minho-oppa, we need you to come here for a second!"
Oh, right.
I worked at a pretty major skin care and beauty company, a lot of our ads taking up major billboards in Seoul.
So I saw my own face around a lot, and so did others.
At some point I'd realized that one of the reasons they chose me as their face was because they wanted someone attractive.
The thought of this was a little weird to me as I definitely didn't feel like the most handsome guy, but everyone else seemed to agree that I was the best fit for the big screens.
I even did some modelling for our company when they asked me to, so I had quite the 'following' even if my only personal social media account was the one dedicated to my cats.
No one knew that was me, though.
Our posts always seemed to get a lot more engagement from followers whenever I'd sneak my face in there, so while helping the socials department out I tipped them about this.
Basically, I felt like somewhat of a celebrity.
I'd frequently get stopped on the street, especially by fangirls who were part of a fan base that someone had created for me and some even had their own fan accounts where they would repost things from our company like interviews with me or pictures taken of me.
This felt a bit overwhelming in the start, but I'd started to get used to it as I learned how to deal with the people.
I usually just quickly let them take a picture with me before telling them I was in a hurry and ask to be left alone.
"Minho-oppa!"
I snapped out of my thoughts as I heard my name being called for the second time, getting up out of my chair.
"Yes?"
"Can you come here for a second? The boss said there are reporters outside who want to know about our new line of products." It was one of our new interns who had called for me, she looked stressed as she'd probably received strict orders from our boss.
I adjusted my suit, nodding at her. "I'm coming."
Following her, I grabbed my jacket from the coat rack as we passed it.
