[Changbin]"Tae?" I called sweetly, poking my head into the bedroom where said man was busy getting dressed.
Today, the two of us had decided we would try to go outside, just for a little while.
It had been some time since Yongtae had been able to go out for anything else than chemo rounds at the hospital or quick trips to the grocery store, and even for that he had to go in a wheelchair if he didn't want to get completely exhausted, but lately he'd been expressing that he wanted to try leaving the house for something else than just doing the necessities.
He wanted to experience something, and I could understand why.
Now that he wasn't working at all and he'd barely had the energy to move around the house, he'd spent most of his days on the couch or in bed watching TV.
And so, when he asked me if I could take him out to do something, of course I agreed.
I'd also missed doing things with him, and even though we spent plenty of time together at home, we hadn't went out together in so long now.
"One second, I'm— working on my socks." Yongtae replied, voice sounding a bit strained where he sat in the bed, bent over to try to put his socks on.
He'd wanted to try to get dressed by himself for once, and it looked like he'd almost completely succeeded in that as only one foot remained bare.
"Just don't hurt yourself, please. Do you want me to help you walk out to the car or should I get the wheelchair for you?" I asked, smiling at him as he finished the last sock and then sat up.
I'd decided that since Yongtae was going to be travelling back and forth from the hospital a lot while he had such a limited amount of energy and movement that I'd get a car, so now we had a small one mostly for that purpose but it was also nice to have for other kinds of travelling like today.
"I'm okay walking to the car, hyung."
Yongtae took a moment to breathe and ready himself before he slowly stood up to not get all dizzy, making his way over to me.
I held out an arm for him just in case he needed the support, and then we made our way to put on shoes.
The weather was getting warmer now, we were through the worst part of winter, so we no longer had to wear thick coats which made it easier for Yongtae to move around outside as well.
And after we'd slipped on shoes and jackets, I took him out to the elevator and pressed the button.
"Are you excited to be going out? You.. still feel like you want to, right? I don't wanna drain your energy completely, so if you need to go home early then we can definitely do that." I said, one hand holding onto the wheelchair which I thought was necessary to bring with us just in case, the other arm supporting Yongtae.
The man beside me nodded, following me into the elevator once it arrived.
"I'm excited, hyung." He smiled, but it looked kind of weak like usual. "I think I'll be okay, it depends on what you're taking me to."
"That's a surprise~ I think you'll like it, though! And you don't really need to move too much for it, so if you're feeling all right then I think you'll be fine." I nudged his side a little, sending a smile back at him, wanting him to know that I was looking forward to going out too.
We rode the elevator down, having quite a bit of practice getting out to the car by now as we'd done it at least a couple of times a week, and soon we were heading towards our destination.
